Robin always was my favourite judge and I had the most faith in him but that all changed this series because I feel that his marks and scores haven't been as fair as previous years.
I also don't get this going with my gut feeling saying either.

The judges have all shown bias this series though and repeated occurrences of undermarking

I don't think they should like you say go with a "gut feeling", they should mark objectively.

I agree they should mark on performance!

The "gut" incident was pretty much the only time I've been really confused by Robin's comments but I think it may have been a cover for other issues on that occasion so we won't ever get to the bottom of that one.

He certainly went down in my estimation when he couldn't come up with a better reason for saving Samia over Keith than 'going with my gut'. He never mentioned how either of them did in the SO. Also he's said in previous series as early as the first skate that he wants to see more solo skating from people but as I said yesterday it took him till about week 3 before he said that to Samia. Early on in this series he picked Matt up a few times about his actual technique needing work but it's still a bit dodgy at times now and his posture is poor but nothing is being said. Posture is another thing Robin's gone on about in the past.

The saving Samia over Keith was odd & inexplicable in my view from Robin, which is probably why he never came up with a proper explanation.

I agree about his comments on Matt. Earlier in the series he was picking Matt up on technical weaknesses but they've not been highlighted in recent weeks. He alluded to 1 or 2 issues on Sunday as to why he didn't give Matt a 10 but nothing further so it felt like it was being glossed over. Also in contrast earlier in the series he was complementing Beth loads on her technical skating skills yet again recently he's not highlighting this in his comments although he did give her the best marks of all the judges on Sunday.

I wonder if Robin is maybe going through the motions a bit this year? He's still my favourite judge on the current panel, but to be honest I think they've all been pretty bad this year!

You could be right. I am even thinking for the first time ever that it wouldn't shock me if Robin were to call it quits on DOI if the show returns next year. I don't think ITV would replace him though - it would be his decision. As in 2010 he will definitely be wanting to miss a couple of shows next year to commentate on the Winter Olympics for the BBC

Robin is still by far the best and most consistent judge, but with the decline in the quality of the panels we've seen I'd suggest that isn't exactly a stretch these days.

I still believe he's doing a good job, and I also believe that apart from the resignation of T&D, his leaving would be the one thing that would rob the show completely of credibility.
