I think this case is perhaps the reason why he now offers business partnership rather than a job, so the issue shouldn't arise again.
He`s offered partnerships for the last two series - wonder when she started her case and how much must it be costing her!!! unless she`s managed to get a 'no win no fee' deal

I'm surprised a busy business man such as Sir Sugar has time to spend two days or more at the tribunal.
Don't worry about him. He's always up to date and in touch with his Amstrad EMailer.

Ha, she lost!

Good for Lord Sugar in resisting her, it all seemed a bit concocted, to me. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-22123912

He said Ms English was effectively blackmailing him and was trying to damage his reputation.

Commenting on the ruling on Twitter, Lord Sugar said: "The Tribunal case brought by Stella English against me and my company has been dismissed.

"A victory for the law against the claim culture."

The tribunal panel ruled unanimously in the businessman's favour.
As I said in post #104 (and plenty agreed I think), I have little sympathy for her - she was basically part of a cut-throat entertainment industry, however the "job" was portrayed. She needed to move on, not start suing everyone (or anyone).

Sugar said she was a compulsive liar, obsessed with conspiracy theories, trying to blackmail money out of him, apparently.

I'd agree with that.

As is so often the case on DS, it seems like it was more a case of people supporting one thing simply because they don't like the other thing at all rather than because the issue actually has any merit.

Well it’s not very often I have to come down on the side of an employer but the gold digger has struck rock bottom and made herself virtually unemployable
Just a pity Lord Sugar can’t apply for costs

I thought Stella came across as a decent sort when watching the programme. And, someone who genuinely wanted to advance her career after creating one from scratch. So a token job would not have had much appeal.

Alan Sugar is slagging her off now, but, where was his discernment when he offered her the job? And, maybe that is all she wanted - the job she was supposed to have had.

Funny, watching the same series I thought she came across as utterly ruthless in her ambition. A natural street fighter.

How was she ruthless? I didnt see her throw any punches. Nothing wrong with ambition. She was slightly older than most so maybe had to make her point a little more strongly on occasion. But, I dont think she is deserving of the comments Sugar has made. Now Katie is another matter. The Apprentice is past its sell by date in my opinion anyway.

Was it because she resigned from her job and therefore wasn't actually dismissed?

Agree, unfortunately shows like "The Apprentice" and "X-Factor" actually demonstrate how little these so called experts actually know.

I think the tribunal was for constructive dismissal which covers resignation

Why on earth would she apply for the Apprentice in the first place if she was serious about a business career?
It's a tv show. We all know the format.

I think she wasn't aware of the unspoken truth that the whole "Apprentice" process is a PR exercise for Alan Sugar and the expectation is for the winner to take the six figure salary, sit in an empty office and surf the net until the contract ends.
