American Idol's Carrie Underwood has stated she would like to judge X Factor USA!
Carrie Underwood has revealed that she would consider taking on an X Factor judging role.
The former American Idol winner knows exactly how it feels to stand on a stage and give the best performance you can, only to have it picked apart by a panel of judges, trusted with the job of deciding your fate. The country singer was of course the winner of the fourth season of American Idol back in 2005 and since then has become a multi-platinum selling recording artist, a winner of six Grammy Awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards and eleven Academy of Country Music Awards, among several others. She thinks she has a lot of experience and expertise which would benefither in guiding some new stars of the music industry but admitted that she would have an issue with being the bearer of bas news and destroying hopefuls’ dreams on the hit Fox show. She of course remembers what it was like to watch many of her pals being rejected by Cowell and his fellow Idol judges not that long ago and Carrie isn’t sure she could be harsh enough. Underwood told Glamour magazine: ”I’d never say never. I think I could do things in a very constructive way. But those initial auditions, where you have to say no or tell someone to stop? I don’t know if I could do that.” Carrie’s words might have come at just the right time for Simon Cowell, as he of course is on the hunt for new stars to join his judging panel. Record label boss L.A Reid announced that he won’t be on the show for the 2013 season and Britney Spears has also stepped down. However, if Underwood does decide to join ‘X Factor,’ she will need to clear some space in her very busy schedule, as she currently performing around American on the second leg of her tour with Hunter Hayes. The first leg of her Blown Away Tour made Underwood the best-selling female country touring artist of 2012, grossing over $29.2 million and bringing her career tour revenues to over $95 million. The tour will have its own exhibition at the Country Music Hall of Fame, called “Carrie Underwood: The Blown Away Tour Exhibition”, starting on June 5, 2013. Do you think Carrie would make a good X Factor judge? SOURCE:- http://tasteofcountry.com/carrie-underwood-x-factor/ and UNREALITY TV |

She'd be a great get for the show, country music is big out there, she's huge and has done so well out of Idol. Cowell backed her from the start and she's got that "All American" girl next door kind of image.
The fact she's big in the US but not elsewhere might help because it would be easier for her to stay in LA for a while and she could promote stuff at the same time as XF US. But I still think she might just be too busy, plus the Idol connection and the fact that she's Simon Fuller's golden girl might make it a bit difficult. |
