Has anyone else been following the new show 'Motive.' which started a few weeks ago?

I really enjoy it, as instead of the usual police procedural format, it shows you the killer and the victim at the start of the story and then the story unfolds from there. I am really enjoying it, and the cast is very good as well.

A Canadian show, but I never bothered checking it out. It is a new take on the "procedural cop show," but it is still a procedural cop show.

Thank you for the update regarding a second season. I really enjoy this show. Sometimes it can be a bit predictable, but there are some very good twists in some of the storylines.

As has been said in other places the idea of showing the killer and victim at the start has hints of Columbo about it.

I'll give the show a go though

Where have you been watching it?

I notice Universal running trailers for it and it starts on there in June.

I intend watching it.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have been watching it from elsewhere

I'm sure you will enjoy it. I've just watched ep.12 and it was a really good story with a very unexpected twist.

Episode 1 of "Motive" premiered tonight in the UK on Universal channel, and will be repeated tomorrow and Sunday. I was unprepared for the format of the show and found it intriguing: in Columbo style, the killer and victim were immediately identified at the start of the episode, then the story alternated between the present time and flashbacks. The lead detective looks nothing like Columbo however, and is female for a start. I enjoyed it.

Yeah. Quite a good - and certainly unique - show. Not sure if I have the time to watch it right now though. Maybe on a re-run. That said, NCIS does finish next week so there's a hole in my viewing schedule

Universal are currently running trailers for a repeat showing of Season 1

Perhaps that is in preparation for Season 2

Not on Universal here in the UK it didn't.

Well it is. It's just filmed in Canada. Like "Stargate" was, for example.

You're right, Motive Season 2 started on Canada's CTV on March 6th.

Didn't make myself clear, my apologies for the confusion.

I've watched half a dozen episodes, It's not massively grabbing - more of a time filler (I have it on my phone for train journeys etc).

As procedurals go I much prefer Cracked

I'm following season 2 at the moment and the standard of storylines are still good.

What I enjoy about this show is the occasional surprise twist that can be at the end of a story that you weren't expecting.
