So with three weeks to go - where's the trailer?
The BBC are leaving it a little late to kick the advertising campaign into gear aren't they? For series 6 part a, part b, and series 7, the trailer was released over a month before the eventual transmission of the series - so where is it now?

Probably will air next week or during Comic Relief.

Technically we had it at Christmas. It's a different set-up to previous series.
We usually get trailers for the first episode back up to two weeks for transmission. So I'm expecting something next week. 6b had comic-con to push it along. I don't particularly feel lacking in the promo department - but I know others feel differently. Teasers are running on BBC One in the meantime to remind viewers that it's coming back. |

Trailers for new programmes do usually air two weeks before transmission and we've already been getting promotional pictures, information about the 50th filming etc. This show is too big a money maker for the BBC to want to instantly cancel. |

I imagine the 7b trailer coming out at the weekend to tie in with BBC Three's rerun of 7a which kicks off on Saturday

It's had a trailer, hasn't it? After the Christmas one. And they've released photos of monsters etc from the new episodes. And several pages in the Radio Times along with groovy free postcards. I should think the on screen blitz will start a fortnight before episode one.
In 2010 they did all sorts such as posters on buses and billboards and cinema trailers. It was amazing to see the show given that much promotion. but this year I would think they will save that sort of thing for the anniversary celebrations , after series 7b has aired. Series 7b airing will be a good opportunity to market the anniversary. |

So short answer; it's not here yet.
But I stand by the above, we haven't had a Christmas mid-season before.

There was a teaser on BBC One in the last few minutes. After Only Fools and Horses - "DW" emblem and "March 30," theme tune in the background. First of many, I'm sure!

In other words, blitzkriegs are best done in short sharp shocks. The Luftwaffe will attest to this. |

There's been so many stories and speculation over the anniversary projects that I wouldn't be surprised if they don't quite feel as much pressure as usual to remind people.

Doubtless we'll be getting one within the next week or two. I hope they do another excellent full length trailer with some TSFH music just to get me in the mood for some more Doctor Who.

The Doctor even mentioned it himself - about humans creating patterns from random things, but I can't off the top of my head remember it... Moff will categorically not be allowing clues in other shows he has no control over, and are written by others at vastly different times. |
