When I try to use the App Store from my iPad mini, I get some problems:

1. In the 'search' box, I can't delete the last item. I have to backspace from the keyboard.

2. I have to select the price box a large number of times before it will change to "Install". Clicking on 'install' usually simply changes it back to the price. It takes a number of attempts before I get "Installing".

3. If I use the App Store in iTunes, I have to select "iPad apps" every times I cange screen. Since these are the only things I'm interested in, can I set it as a default somewhere?

Incidentally, when I install an app, is there anywhere to get instructions for their use? The icons don't even hint at their function.

1. There is a X to the right of the search box and that will delete the whole text.
2. This happens to me occasionally but not often maybe you have to be abit more precise when pressing the buy button but I do think the button should be abit bigger by default.

Some apps have a tutorial when you first use them but I find most icons pretty self explanatory.

Thanks gavo,

1) I try the 'X', and very occasionally it deletes the term in the box, but usually it does nothing. Is it supposed to be highlighted when it's available, because I don't see what you do to highlight it.

2) More precise in what way? Is there a specific spot you're supposed to hit.

3) I find the only way to find out what an icon does is press it - then sometimes there's no way back, other than close the app and re-open it.

Actually, the only apps I've acquired so far have been free ones; maybe the ones you pay for are better designed.
