Games and HD

My TV has died, went off for repair and was written off...waiting for a new HD TV to be delivered.....
.....anyway while I was waiting for my old TV to be fixed I got first a 14" CRT then upgraded to a 32" CRT and noticed apart from the picture being dreadful that there are some games that you can't actually play on standard definition. I have rented Omertà City of gangsters and it is unplayable. So I wondered does anyone still play on a CRT and had I of bought Omertà would I be entitled to a refund because it isn't usable. Just a thought. Also there was no difference between the 14 and 32" in terms of picture quality in fact it was clearer on the 14" strange

I don't know of any games being HD only - it may actually be that the game is 60Hz only (PAL60) as not all TVs support 60Hz.

I'd go with what Matt has said, in a lot of games you got to pick between 50/60Hz and the 50Hz would be fine on CRT.

IIRC, some connections don't support 60Hz even if the TV itself does support it. Also, I think that you need to switch the 360 to PAL50 or PAL60 and this option is only present using certain connections.

60Hz, well my old PAL only TV could handle NTSC DVDs perfectly well as the RGB port could handle 60Hz no issue, switch the player to composite - no picture
