In this situation, we came into it under the impression that tasks would be given once a week, and we were given a schedule. At the moment, you are differing from the schedule and telling us to be online at certain times with very short notice when we potentially may have other commitments, and I don't think that's reasonable at all. It's not the fact that you're asking us to be online at certain times, it's the fact that you're changing it around so much and springing things on us at the last minute. You said previously that the task would be announced at 7pm yesterday, and it wasn't. Now you're telling us to be online at certain times less than 24 hours before that time happens. Am I supposed to entirely clear my schedule of all other commitments in case you suddenly change your mind about when something is going to be?
If you want me to quit, I will. I don't particularly want to, because I've come this far, I want to win this and I actually think I've got a good chance. But I'm a very honest and frank person, and if I think something is unfair or unreasonable, I will come right out and say so. Even though I'm trying to impress you because I want to win this, I feel that on this occasion you're being pretty unreasonable actually, and I have no qualms about saying that straight out. If you have a problem with that, then I'm clearly not right for you, and if you think I should go, say so and I will.”
I do not want you to quit at all.
When announcing when tasks will be announced, I never "tell" any of you to be online. I just say the task will be announced at ... I completely understand if you have other commitments during the tasks. Eliza has had to send her CV later because of family commitments, and I've had to announce this task and last week's task (and change what is involved in the tasks) earlier than the Tuesday because I have been busy with my music commitments.
I understand why you may think what I am saying is unreasonable, but I want you to know I amn't doing this to try to clear your schedule, put you at a disadvantage or anything like that. I have had other commitments that I didn't know about when sending the schedule out that have meant I've had to announce tasks earlier.
As I said, I don't want you to quit so please don't if it is in response to me being "unreasonable".
