Anyone remember Alpine pop? maybe it was a west midlands thing? bunch of gypos on a van used to go round you'd have 10 bottles for a couple of quid. they looked like somone had put a felt tip in the water to colour it, had zero taste and were flat as soon as the first 'fizz' came out when you opened the bottle.

Yes, horrid. The lemon one, in particular was revolting - tasted of chemicals.

Asda own brand Irn-Bru is pretty vile, and about as far removed from the original (and best soft drink in the world) as it's possible to get.

I tried Root Beer on a trip to the US, and that is foul.

Caffeine Free Diet Coke is the most pointless drink on the planet

Coke Zero is pretty minging as well -tastes like flat coke

Yes I do remember it well from the 1970s. There was a 1p deposit on the bottles! At least it never had any artificial sweeteners in it.

Diet irn bru! It's just vile, it needs the sugar to make it taste right.

Correct. All diet drinks taste vile in my opinion. And so do Non Diet drinks with artificial sweeteners in them.

Nah. I prefer Diet Irn-Bru to full sugar, doesn't give me the nasty tooth coating.

I no longer drink any of them because they are all so incredibly unhealthy, especially the ones with sugar in. I've tried to avoid anything connected with Coca Cola, but in any case, it's pretty sickly and disgusting stuff. The only cola I would ever drink was the diet "American" cola sold under the Budgens brand. It had a far more adult taste about it, being far less over-sweetened than most of the alternatives. The Budgens in my town closed about five years ago and I haven't bought one since.

Ditto this.

Diet Pepsi and diet coke have changed over the years.

2 years ago I used to always drink diet pepsi, always had a great kick to it.Never liked diet coke. Then they changed Diet Pepsi and I couldnt drink it anymore, so had to go on to Diet Coke which I still drink now.

Went out to Malaysia 2 years ago and the diet coke out there was different and I didnt like it. So I bought the Diet Pepsi which tasted EXACTLY like the old Diet Pepsi in the UK 20 years ago. It was like meeting an old friend.
Sadly can't get Malaysian made Diet Pepsi in the UK.

Corona was my favoutrite pop when I was a kid. No one made Cherryade like Corona.

I can only just imagine how vile Pepsi Max and also Coke Zero taste. As if diet Coke & Diet Pepsi were not vile enough as it is!

I find Coke Zero tastes ten times better than Diet Coke which has that funny aftertaste. Pepsi Max is ok. Can't remember last time I had Diet Pepsi.

I can't drink non diet drinks now - just nothing but pure sugar that makes me sick. The aforementioned Mountain Dew being particularly nasty.
