My brother will be watching them, he's working it.

I love the song, Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, especially the cleanly sung breakdown in the middle, but I'm not really a fan overall.

I just watched them play Symphony of Destruction, he sounded pretty shocking to be honest!

Probably not the right place to put this, but I know you are an eclectic bunch, its a single just been released to support the Sophie Lancaster Foundation

I see Sabton are doing a short tour of the UK in November/Dec playing at Norwich the Waterfront on 28/11/2014.

Might treat myself going to call in there tomorrow to pick up a few tickets for a few shows.

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation attend most Rock Festivals, I've seen them at both Sonisphere and Download and they raise a lot of money for a good cause.

Delain's song We Are The others was written as a reaction to Sophie's murder.

The new Opeth album, Pale Communication, is very, very, good. It is much more consistant than Heritage and, for me, a much better album.

There are no "cookie monster" vocals and, especially the opening track, it has more in common with the Prog of King Crimson than Death Metal!

I was 24 then and you feel old.

I had already been on the east London Gig pubs for a few years by then, including one where the really early iron maiden played.

WITHIN TEMPTATION confirmed as Saturday headliners for next year's Bloodstock Festival. It will be their only UK date for 2015. OPETH also confirmed.

I'm a bit of a music buff but have never really been into heavy metal / heavy rock and have generally steered away from it in the past. However, since I'm off work with a broken leg at the moment I've decided to give myself a "history of metal" education.

So far I've listened to the obvious trio of metal pioneers (early albums by Led Zep, Sabbath, Deep Purple) and then backtracked to pre-metal heavy blues - Mayall, Clapton, Beck etc. but has anyone got more suggestions for early pioneering hard rock / metal albums?

As a long-standing Within Temptation fan, I first saw them when they supported Iron Maiden @ Twickenham in 2008, this does seem a strange one to say the least!

What's strange about it? WT first headlined Bloodstock back in 2005. Mind you, they were still a Metal band back then.

You could just get a day ticket for the Saturday, as I did last year
