They will be touring the UK again at the end of the year i asked Wayne Findlay last year wether a tour this year is on the cards.

Schenker has been back to his brilliant best now for a few years.”

I saw him @ High Voltage in 2011 and @ Planet Rockstock last year and, as you say, he was brilliant both times.

At Planet Rockstock all of them seemed to be having a great time, and when you've got the old Scorpions rythmn section you're never going to go too far wrong!

I've just enjoyed the new Gun album.
It's far better than their previous release.

Just been listening to Liturgy's 'The Art Work', sounds quite edgy to me. Some interesting instrumentation as well. Vaguely black metal.

I got mine early from Pledge music and have been listening to it. I like it.”

I got the double CD one.
I gave the first CD a spin yesterday.
It's good, there's some quite chunky riffs on it, plus a 'simpler' production.

I've just watched the excellent BBC4 show about Irish music from Dublin and Belfast, followed by the obligatory "Irish Rock at the BBC".

I knew of the Horslips, but I'd never heard anything until this programme played "Dearg Doom".

Can anyone recommend any of their albums as a starting point?

I got my ticket for Belfast

Took delivery of Disguises, the new album by Jettblack, yesterday (signed copy to go with my signed drumsticks, thank you Pledge music).

It's a more mature sounding effort than their first two albums but there are still plenty of big riffs, hooks and melodies that they love so much. That unmistakable hard rock swagger and passion is also very evident.

Overall, a good album

"Sain y niwl, gaunt y goydwig fwsog, gwenithfaen, cen y coed, a'r lleuad, un gway f'adenydd i dapestri bywyd."

It's Welsh, but not quite.

Is there a connection between Finland and Wales?

Looking into going to see the London shows again its a double header Whitesnake /Def Leppard not too keen on Def Leppard really only want to see Whitesnake hey ho though.

Though i hear Black Star Riders are also on the bill as openers which kind of swings it for me.

I will listen to some Jettblack later on you tube.

New album for you all - Crooked Doors by Royal Thunder.

I love this band. There music is a journey though the history of rock from blues rock to classic rock, to heavy metal, to doom to grunge, the influences are obvious.

And they have one of the finest female singers out there at the moment

Thanks will try and make my way through it.

Getting in the mood for "Lights out in Norwich" Thursday you have no idea how much i am looking forward to UFO .

Can never thank them enough for although they cancelled the 1983 European Tour they went ahead with the UK leg.

Which was a great set of shows despite Phil Moggs recent problems which were well publicised.

A band i shall be forever fond of.

Anyone heard the new song from Million Dollar Reload?

Roll the Dice

Apparently they are working on a new EP.

They spent time touring with Blackberry Smoke and it shows. I love the direction their music is taking, the keys really add to the music.

Halestorm's new album is #1 in the midweeks

Unlikely to hold on as only a few hundred copies separating the top three and rock sales are always front-loaded sales wise, but nevertheless, a top five finish would be great.

I finally said "F**k it" and bought Halestorm's music as they have been on my to listen list for a while.

Not a bad album. Not my favourite of the year so far but definitely not bad.
