As for Babymetal, I get this feeling they could well make an early appearance on the Friday main stage now. My advice to you is IF they do clash then forget all about Halestorm or the Truck group and go and watch DELAIN. They are brilliant live

To be fair both are good live but I agree, Delain are superb. I've met them many times as well and they are great guys.

When we say Nightwish in December Martijn Westerholt was sat a couple of rows in front of us, I knew he was going because we'd chatted about it when we saw Delain a few weeks earlier but I never expected to see him in such a large venue, and we had a chat about the new album and Download.

Just got back from Slipknot at Alexandra Palace, never before have I been to such a nice looking venue with such utterly shit sound quality.

Slipknot were great (despite the sound issues), but Suicidal Tendencies delivered an utter cringefest of a set, really hope I don't have to watch them as a support any time soon.

Whist neither are really my thing, I do love Stone Sour though, Slipknot were very impressive in Cardiff.

All I can really say about Suicidal Tendencies is that they seem to have plenty of fans...

The live CD & DVD Volkerball would also be a great place to start. It was recorded in Nimes in 2005

Anyone else go to Slipknot at Leeds last night, i thought they were on top form, and the crowd were just as good.

Gutted I couldn't go to Terrorvision in Bingley tonight, saw them a few times and they always put on a good show

So at the end of September, beginning of October, London will be hosting the inaugral "HeavyCon", think of it as Comic Con for rock stars and rock fans.

There'll be multiple exhibitions, talks, and meet and greets with some of the biggest names in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, the only confirmed guest so far is Gene Simmons. Like him or hate him, if that's the kind of guest they're aiming to book then it could make for quite an eventful day/weekend out.

As of right now, the tickets are very weirdly (and extremely) priced, £30 will get you a day ticket which allows you to enter the Con, check out the stalls and the museum and things and also get you access to "TeamRock clinics" and the chance to upgrade to a handful of limited meet and greets as if it was a pay-as-you-go deal.

But £135 will net you unlimited access to the meet and greet area for an entire day as well as everything the £30 ticket offers, and finally £250 will sort you for the entire weekend. Like I said, pretty crazy pricing, but if similar sized artists to Gene are booked it could well be a good time.

They were excellent Glad they sorted out the awful sound problems Sikth and Suicidal Tendencies had before the main event. We were disappointed they didn't play Custer, but they were every bit as good as they were at Wembley last year.

Just read that today marks the 30th Anniversary since the release of Ozzy Osbourne's "Ultimate Sin". Now I feel old.

Anvil dropped their 16th album today 'Anvil is Anvil'. It isn't a ground breaker but if you like Anvil, you will like this.

It was produced by Martin "Mattes" Pfeiffer and was recorded in Cologne which was an experience for Lipps and Rob Reiner considering their background.

Martijn is super cool and Charlotte has an amazing voice. I saw them the first time they ever played in the UK (possibly in 2009? somewhere in London I seem to recall) and it was clear to me that they would be big stars (admittedly in quite a small "scene" when it comes to the UK). I do have to say though that I prefered the sound and style of their first 2 albums to the last 2 (although I still really like them) and I really don't think much to Charlotte's nose ring these days either!!!

The Answer has announced some Rise 10 year anniversary shows and they are working on new music to be released by the end of the year

Rise is still my favourite Answer album although the last one is a close 2nd.

I first saw them in 2010 @ Sonisphere and even though they were the first band on the second stage, like you, I could see they were destined for bigger things.

The "scene" is definitely growing in the UK now, though. Delain sold out much of their last tour, in bigger venues as well, and in Bristol there were also good crowds for Leave's Eyes and Epica when they toured last November plus, of course, both Nightwish and Within Temptation have sold out Wembley Arena.

I did see earlier this week Stream of Passion are touring and playing in Bristol in October, I'll definitely be going along to that.

I always said to myself that if Slipknot ever play in Leeds, I'd be there with bells on. I was just really put off by the ticket price.

Does anybody on here remember Angel Witch

They had some great songs and still do some live shows.

But for bad management/decisions they could have been where Iron Maiden are now.

Yes, I remember them well. Like Diamond Head they had the potential to be huge but it didn't happen for them.

Off to see Machine Head in Cardiff on Thursday, I get the feeling it might be loud!!

Brian Johnston advised to stop touring or to risk permanent hearing damage

http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/0...-hearing-loss/

Sad times

Dave from the Foos I believe is deaf in one ear, and Roger Taylor has hearing aids so glad he's taking this seriously. IEMs could be used to lower the overall feed to the ears though that would probably be treading on ice sadly
