If you can hold out on GNR it is looking very, very very likely that the UK will have a stadium tour over the summer. If you're a festival goer as well they're the bookies favourites for Glasto and/or Download.
Yeah I'm living in Spain from Wednesday on until the 1st of June 2017, so I suppose I'll just have to keep fingers crossed that they play here on a date where either I'm back in the country, or a date where I can feasibly travel without some kind of overlap with work.

As for Glasto/Download, I can never seem to get tickets for Glasto, it just seems very hard to even come close and they're also always ridiculously expensive given that most people there don't really give a shit about music and there are in reality only about 5-8 good acts per weekend, so not overly sure I'd get a ticket to see GNR at Glasto even if I could manage to acquire one, which I don't think I can.

But with Download, I would definitely go to see GNR, but blimey... the atrocity that was Download 2016, what with organisers seeming to not give a shit about security, mud or trafficking, and going as far as to actively make leaving and entering the festival even more difficult as the weekend progressed... yeah, I'd much rather go see GNR at their own stadium dates rather than have to financially support that kind of carry on again.

Well for any fans of The Pretty Reckless, they are playing a one off gig at Scala in London on the 10th October. I managed to get tickets this morning.

Edit: Just went to grab a link to post to Scala's site and it now says sold out

Am in Spain atm but I would have killed for this, got massively into TPR as of late, I have it on good authority they'll be back in the UK for a proper tour in Spring 2017 though (Carnival of Madness anyone?)

The title track from The Answer's upcoming album, Solas

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0e-TbCU5tA

Really rather good I must say. Very different to their previous stuff.

I heard it on Planet Rock a couple of days ago. It really surprised my and I was very impressed with it. It is certainly a change in direction for them!

I really like the new Opeth song as well, looking forward to seeing them @ Wembley Arena in November!

I've got Kings and Queens, which is a fine "Celtic/Symphonic Metal" album. I heartily recommend her to those who are fans of the genre. Up there with Nightwish and Lacuna Coil who are my other favourites.

It is rumoured the official announcement of Iron Maiden's 2017 UK tour for The Book Of Souls will be announced next Wednesday, 28th September.

I have heard the dates to be announced will be:

Thursday 4th May: Nottingham Motorpoint Arena
Monday 8th May: Manchester Arena
Wednesday 10th May: Sheffield Arena
Thursday 11th May: Leeds First Direct Arena
Sunday 14th May: Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
Tuesday 16th May: Glasgow The SSE Hydro
Wednesday 17th May: Aberdeen GE Oil & Gas Arena
Saturday 20th May: Liverpool Echo Arena
Sunday 21st May Birmingham Barclaycard Arena
Wednesday 24th May: Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
Saturday 27th May: London The O2

Support will be Shinedown.

They may or may not be true but Bruce did say at Download they would be doing a UK tour next May and it would be reasonable to expect an announcement soon if that were the case.

Depending on the price I might have to look at the O2 show. I like some of Maiden's stuff and would like to see a live show of theirs plus if Shinedown are supporting I'll be happy.

They aren't playing in Bristol either.

I am seeing The Dead Daisies and Lynne Jackaman at Planet Rockstock in December. I saw Lynne when she was in Saint Jude and she has a great voice. Her 4-track EP, called Jackaman, is well worth checking out.

Maiden are doing a night at the Dublin3 arena, I went last April to see Muse and its a great venue with easy access from all UK airports and also once you are there. In fact its easier than getting to a London gig with all the faffing about on the underground and congestion. Its only 30 mins in the air from Cardiff.

Might try it again.

Airbourne's new album "Breaking Outta Hell" is out now!

It's a great piece of classic rock, if you've seen Airbourne live or listened to "Runnin' Wild" then you know they're a great, energetic live band, reminiscent of AC/DC on steroids, and I think this album showcases that better than any of their other albums.

Do highly recommend.

So this week's gonna be an expensive one...

As well as Iron Maiden gigs going up for pre-sale and general sale on Friday, Metallica have now announced 2 European shows, both in Copenhagen, Denmark, and these shows mark the very first performances ever in the Royal Arena.

Metallica went on to confirm that as of this point in time these 2 shows are the only ones they have lined up in Europe for 2017 so far, saying that at the earliest, they won't be back until Autumn - So in other words, no Download for Metallica next year.

Speaking of Metallica....

New song: Moth Into Flame, check it out!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iprubvCfdM

For my money, it's arguably their best song since the Black album.

Managed to get a hold of a Metallica VIP ticket for the Copenhagen show in February

Here's hoping I get equally as lucky when trying to get Maiden tickets in the Live Nation pre-sale tomorrow.

Yes, just got my tickets for Cardiff via the Live Nation pre-sale.

Tickets were @ £55.00 so pretty much the going rate these days.

I've seen Shinedown a few times before as well and they are always good live, so for the price not too bad really.
