Once you start investigationg the world of Symphonic Metal, or Frmale Fronted Metal, although I know most female singers dispise that term, a whole new world opens up!!

You could also add...

Arven
Angelica
Annysia
Dark Sarah
Diabulus In Musica
Edenbridge
enKlination
The Gentle Storm
Leah
Lunatica
Lyriel
Markize
The Murder Of My Sweet
Nemesea
Sleeping Romance
Stream Of Passion
Whyzdom

There are many others!!

Out of interest, Amberian Dawn and Diabulus In Musica are playing London's Boston Music Room on Friday 10th February.
The problem for me is that so many of these bands all sound the same. Just cloning Nightwish and Within Temptation.

I wouldn't say the just 'clones' of Nightwish and Within Temptation at all.

After all Within Temptation, even though I love them, are hardly a Symphonic Metal band any more.

They do sound similar but yet all are different in their own way - though I haven't heard all of these,

But for example Leah isn't like Nightwish who also sound different to Delain, and Lacuna Coil can't really be described as Symphonic - more Gothic/Nu Metal with a hint of Power Metal.

Spot on, I think very few of these bands sound like each other, they nearly have have their own unique sound and style, whilst obviously having SOME similarities as they are all included in the same sort of genre.

My copy of Nightwish's Vehicle of Spirit blu ray has arrived. If you're thinking of buying this for the Wembley gig, my advice is don't bother. The picture quality is shockingly poor and totally spoils what was otherwise a great show. I'd say the camera work is amateurish, but that would be an insult to amateur film-makers.

The Tampere show is ok, picture-wise (thought still not brilliant).

I'm sending mine back for a refund.

Had this as a xmas present - lovely presentation I have to say with lots of great pics in a photobook style and I'm listening to the live CD right now and its sounding very good. Will give my opinion on the PQ of the footage when I watch it later this week. To be honest the sound quality is more important to me.

Can anyone kindly recommend a decent radio station for metal and classic rock following the demise of Team Rock Radio?

How rotten for all the staff losing their jobs right before Christmas.
