I have a very soft spot for King Crimson. Mostly because they helped to Roxy Music get signed. Peter Sinfield then produced their first album & John Wetton later played bass on their Country Life & Siren tours. Sadly, he never recorded with them

Roxy Music - Out Of The Blue w John Wetton on bass

He then went on to form UK, with Eddie Jobson (after Roxy split in 1976), who you can see on synth & electric violin in that clip.

You don't need an account, just the iTunes software - I didn't have it either but it's a very small download and only got it to hear this!

European Metal Hammer readers have been voting for the top 100 metal/rock singers of all time & the results are in.

Click on the arrows under the photo, to see who's where.

Places 100 - 51

The top 50

Some surprising placings, to say the least.

Can't argue with Bruce Dickinson as No. 1 but some of the results clearly skewed by European fanbases trolling the results. I mean, I love Rammstein, but second best vocalist of all-time?! The vocals are very average indeed!

Yes, much as I love Till & Rammstein, I can only assume that there was some regional voting going on there. It is a German mag, after all. Having said that, there are a lot of German metalheads going WTF??? about it on Facebook.

My friends band, FEARhouse, are releasing their debut single tonight at 6pm.

Okay, my mate is in the band, but if you like the likes of Sabbath, Metallica and Slayer, you'll probably like them.

Check out their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FEARhouse

Today 6th June is the 69th anniversary of the D Day landings.

The Normandy landings, codenamed Operation Neptune, were the landing operations of the Allied invasion of Normandy, in Operation Overlord, during World War II. The landings commenced on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 (D-Day), beginning at 6:30 am British Double Summer Time (GMT+2). In planning, as for most Allied operations, the term D-Day was used for the day of the actual landing, which was dependent on final approval.
The landings were conducted in two phases: an airborne assault landing of 24,000 British, American and Canadian airborne troops shortly after midnight, and an amphibious landing[4] of Allied infantry and armoured divisions on the coast of France starting at 6:30 am.

The operation, planned by a team under Lieutenant-General Frederick Morgan, was the largest amphibious invasion in world history and was executed by land, sea and air elements under direct British-American command with over 160,000[6] soldiers landing on 6 June 1944: 73,000 Americans, 61,715 British and 21,400 Canadians.[7] 195,700[8] Allied naval and merchant navy personnel in over 5,000[6] ships were also involved. The invasion required the transport of soldiers and materiel from the United Kingdom by troop-laden aircraft and ships, the assault landings, air support, naval interdiction of the English Channel and naval fire-support. The landings took place along a 50-mile (80 km) stretch of the Normandy coast divided into five sectors: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword.

Heard rumours of Dave throwing some hissy fits. One at someone doing the lighting and another at someone in the crowd.

Really, really liked the music. Especially the bass. Good & heavy

Not too impressed with the vocalist though, sorry. He's got a decent enough growl but when he's not growling he's just shouting.

Hey, thanks for watching and thanks for your comments.

I'll pass them on.

If you're interested my friend is the rhythm guitarist wearing the "Saint Vitus" t-shirt.

Well be sure to pass on my compliments. He's good

I just realised I didn't notice the drumming. That's not a good thing.

The vocalist sort of spoiled it for me really. The heavy (Gojira influenced?) guitars were great but he seems a little....core?

Just sent them a text. He'll appreciate your comments, every band has to start from somewhere and can only get better. Constructive feedback is a good thing.

Well, I just played it to my metalhead daughter, without telling her what I thought. She shared my opinion, oddly enough. She was loving it until the vocal kicked in, then lasted about another minute before declaring that he was "too grating" & walked off.

Btw, this is someone who actually enjoys Norwegian Black, so it wasn't a case of finding him too difficult to listen to. I'm afraid the word "shit" was used
