I have probably seen Machine Head more than any other band as they always seem to be a support act for someone, i have yet to see them headline somewhere, missed them last time in manchester

I think it's because we just appreciate the music, without getting hung up about who is out-selling who or who is the bigger name etc.

How on earth have I only just discovered this thread??
![]() Anyway, good evening all. Has anyone on here heard of Opeth? Will certainly not be to everyone's taste as there are growled vocals, but clean ones as well. Their music is best described as 'progressive death metal.' This is, IMO, their best album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QP5RGSH02Sk Some will like it, some won't. Oh, and apologies if already raised - I haven't read the entire thread. Looking forward to some intelligent discussion about great music!

Unfortunately the singing is unremarkable. Preferable to the growling though. |

Not my thing, sorry. Maybe my ears need tuning but to me, all the growlers sound the same. I like distinctive voices. The music's ok though.

Same bloke - Mikael Akerfeldt - and IMO he's a great singer but death growls are extremely subjective - it took me quite some time to get used to them. The musicianship is magnificent.

I did try but had to turn off after about six minutes because I was bored. Imo, that's about the worst thing music can do to me - bore me.

Bullet for my valentine Breaking Benjamin Alterbridge Buckecherry Favourite songs by Breaking Benjamin has to be Breath & Diary of Jane. And Favourite song by Buckcherry has to be Crazy B* There is an uncensored video of Crazy B on youtube, which is very very nice, but cannot post for obvious reasons.

Iron Maiden was the first music t-shirt i ever bought, used to be a stall in Manchester Arndale Market that used to do those ironed on transfers, i thought i was the dogs doo-dahs. The actual t-shirt it was pressed onto was of questionable quality because after about 3 washes it either shrunk or went right out of shape
