I've loved that tune for as long as I can remember.

OK, now I've wandered off into Youtube to immerse myself in all the old Stooges stuff that I can't listen to anymore because I no longer have a turntable. I remember buying this EP on import I Got A Right also I'm Sick Of You

Oh, I'm loving this!

Anyone a fan of OSI (Jim Matheos and Kevin Moore's band)? I used to love Fates Warning, so that's how I ended up listening to them.

If you think I bang on about Sabaton, then you ain't seen nothing. When it comes to The Stooges, I'm unstoppable.

Are you ready for some RAW POWER!

If not then Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell

Volume UP!

To 11

Ach, what the hell. Here's the entire Raw Power album in all it's chaotic glory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxmNT_49-CM

Aaand back to Sabaton. A power metal song that appears to take the piss out of black metal. It's even got back to front lyrics & a number puzzle

7734

The dawn of time breaks
See the sun rise to the sky
The wheel of time begins to turn

But then we heard it
A divine voice out of nowhere
Spoke to our hearts and showed the way

Almighty lord we have come to your hall

Do glatem live, creator of all
Open your heart and you will find a way
Paradise calling and enter you may

Falling down
Now your soul returns to paradise
7734

The wheel kept turning, ages came
Time passed us by
We lived in perfect harmony
But then it happened
Our ranks decreased rapidly
But now it's time for our return

Once we were numerous
But that's long ago
We are no longer 7734
We last 2 united and 2 became 1
111 perished in flames

It amuses me 3+4 = 7, makes 777. 777 - 111 = 666

I'd not heard of them before but that's some good stuff you've posted. I'm partial to a bit of prog every now & then

Another band I'd not heard of them before. Granted, they're a bit before my time. Sounds dated now, doesn't it?

Ok then....

This may be a little "controversial" but how about...

The Sweet - Hellraiser
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5_XB_U3xtY

Does is qualify as hard rock? I think so! These boys could certainly play live.

Sorry, what? You're countering The Stooges with Sweet?

Everybody had to be able to play live back then. They're still Glam though, imo.

Good point - a very unworthy counter to say the least. Yes, very glam but always good fun and could do a lot more than just mince about on Top of the Pops.

I have always had a regard for The Stooges though. Some wonderful stuff over the years.

Now I have think of a genuine counter but nothings immediately comes to mind.

This website is really good for discovering new metal bands:

http://mapofmetal.com/#/home

Just scroll around the map and click on the skulls to see a playlist of links to songs of that sub genre.
