I first discovered heavy metal in movie soundtracks. lol
My first introduction was Wayne's World and then what really made me want to discover more was Bride of Chucky.

Bride of Chucky has a some great tracks I probably wouldn't have heard without it...
Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies 'Boogie King'

Monster Magnet 'See You In Hell'

Stabbing Westward 'So Wrong'

It also features stuff by Slayer, Bruce Dickinson, Judas Priest, Coal Chamber, and also Rob Zombie.
I think hearing 'Living Dead Girl' in the opening credits I was like ' Wow amazing music!'

You certainly did.

Unfortunately.

What a bloody racket! That's one of the things I love about metal though. It's the only genre that can challenge my ears & turn me into a typical middle aged mum shouting "Turn that bloody noise down!"

Something a little more melodic Powerwolf - We Drink your Blood

Yeah, so I like Power Metal. And yes, I know it's 'uncool' but you know what? I don't f*cking care.

Hmm...I've never been quite sure what to make of him. He has a great image & he's obviously an intelligent man but he's never really grabbed me. Apart from the early garage (what used be called garage anyway. I gather garage means something else these days) stuff - MC5, Stooges, NY Dolls, I don't think I'm too keen on the American stuff. I much prefer British/European.

Topless Till? You sound just like my friend, Lucy.

It's a tune and a half. And yes, you could probably sit and post Rammstein on here all day without getting bored.

Motorhead is a band and they're British?

I do wish he wouldn't do that stupid thing with his mouth though.

I could indeed, except I've made myself sad by posting Ohne Dich too early in the day.

I need some Swedish Pagans to cheer myself up.

I know, right? I hadn't seen the video since it came out, and forgotten about the mouth thing. I suppose it's meant to be him in character, or something.

That's the one thing that annoys me about Rammstein. I love their music but when it comes to a band performing, I prefer the dynamism to come from the music & band members themselves, rather than characters & props. I haven't seen them live but I've obviously watched many youtube videos of their live performances & that whole Grand Guignol thing leaves me cold tbh. I really don't need to see the guitarist's arm on fire, or the keyboard player faffing about on a segway, or Till dressing up as Sweeney Todd & 'acting' crazy.

Now something from Swedish industrialists Raubtier

Yey mentions of M. Manson and Rammstein.
My fave Rammstein song is Mann Gegen Mann, just thinking about the video to the song makes me laugh (I can hardly ever find it on youtube lol).

Might aswell throw in a bit of Korn too.
I noticed there's a 'funeral song' thread out there and this would be my choice to play at my funeral (like it would actually be allowed). Not only for the ironic song title but for the music sounding like a kind of death march.
Here To Stay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgTRj-XvjwY
I thought it would be more suitable for this thread.

Another tack from Raubtier. I love this tune & really think they deserve more recognition.

To be honest I always thought the same. however once I saw them live it all made sense and I've seen them a couple of time now. They are amazing live.

How about some symphonic metal....

Pythia - The Circle
Katatonia - Dead Letters
Within Temptation - Angels
Delain - The Gathering
Lunatica - Song For You
Winter In Eden - Torment
Paatos - Hypnotique
Markize - Mechanical Hearts
Amberian Dawn - Arctica
Serenity - The Chevalier

looks like a cracking line up for fans of that type of metal, my lads mate loves all that stuff, price is reasonable too, coach + camping + tickets + booking fee and delivery = £185

Great value if you like several bands & want to make a weekend of it. They don't do one day tickets though. I might have been tempted if they did. £185 for one band just isn't worth all the hassle of travelling down from the NE. Even my metal head daughter only likes one other band (Slayer lol) & they're on a different day anyway.

gutted
