So.. is anyone actually looking forward to this, it's coming out in a couple of weeks. The more I read about this game the more I love and it seems like PCF and Epic are really mixing things up here to create a final game that redefines the co-op/multiplayer aspect (it will have dedicated servers too) as well as provide much better replayability for the single player campaign including a lot more weapons.

We also get a free copy of the original Gears of War to download, which is handy for me since I pretty much skipped past it to Gears 2.

I'm gonna be broke with Bioshock released on the same day as well, probably only be able to afford one of them...but which one?

I just hope it will be better than Gears 3, it wasn't a bad game, but let's just say it was the Uncharted 3 of the franchise, the previous game just felt a lot better, Gear 2 is still the best IMO.

edit: Also VERY shocked to see 2Dshmuplover skip the first game! Come on, trying to avoid the Krill, the battle with General RAMM, etc, some of the highlights of the series!

Not to worry, 'shmup - since Gears is released on the 22nd and Infinite on the 26th you'll at least have a few days to raise funds.
Helluva month, though - Tomb Raider, God of War:Ascension, Gears of War:Judgment and Bioshock Infinite...great days.

Jeez the battle with Gen Ram. I dunno how many times I died trying to kill him on the hardest difficulty setting excellent game though

Well I did buy it but I didn't play much of it for some reason, Gears 2 came out shortly after and I stuck with that instead. I look forward to giving the first game a go, I know it has it's fans. I seem to recall these flying bats that kept killing me and it pissed me off no end.

I personally liked Gears 3 but Judgement is going to divide fans even more I think, it's a massive departure to what's come before and that's exactly what's needed.

The KRILL! You gotta play through that section on Co-Op dude, it's brilliant having to time yourselves to run through areas during lightning strikes avoiding dark areas before the krill get a chance to to do their death strike, easily one of the stand out moments from the entire series for me.

I never even finished the first level of Gears 3. I need to go back and finish the other games too but never find the time
too many games to play and never enough time to do it. It's the same with the God of War and Uncharted series. Never got around to finishing them either.

I need to make time to do that. I'd like to finish them all if I can

Yeah, it was fun unleashing them on people in RAAM's Shadow but annoying as hell to be on the receiving end. Will have to try it co-op then if that helps. That's what put me off.

Thinking back, that's been the only final fight in the series (so far) that's been very challenging, Gears 2 had an epic ending but the final boss was just a giant lambent with everyone in helicopters using hammer of dawns and Gears 3 was just a giant moth on top of a tower where you had plenty of safe areas.

RAMM on the train though, one wrong move and BAM, you had to restart the fight, that's why it was better in Co-Op, one of you would bring along a Troque Bow and the other a high powered rifle, and use the stratagy where you would blast the krill away as the other person lays into Ramm with the rifle.

6 hour campaign. A bit disappointed by that. I know Gears isn't usually a particularly long SP experience, but 6 hours.
At least they put in a bit extra with the Aftermath section.

New MP modes look good though.

Yeah I was quite surprised with the SP only being around 6 hours but here's hoping the MP modes make up for that
