I agree. Seems very artificial. And what a lame, done-to-death format. I remember a show as long ago as 85 or 86 that did exactly the same thing - filming people watching TV, but done much better and a lot more believable.

I don't usually post on forums, this is only my third post on Digital Spy but That Mother!!!!!!!!, Talk about playing up for the cameras. She must drive her kids nuts. What was all that "oh it won't be a meteor, it'll just be the Americans testing something new" So that's supposed to be comforting is it? Instead of some poxy little meteor blowing out a few windows it'll just be the Americans trying out one of their missiles ON THE RUSSIANS !!!! So the prospect of World War 3 is the better alternative for her. What a dingbat, and nobody from the family bothered to point this out to her.Oh and the constant singing, God I bet her kids can't wait to leave home.

If Carol Vodermann had watched this show, she wouldn't be pleased to hear the unkind comments from other viewers regarding her appearance & her 'supposed' age.

I hadn't seen them either, I got a suitable summary in the show.
For the purposes of this, I don't need to see the show.
I suppose it must add something if you've seen the program yourself and have an opinion on it though.

I agree with all this. She seemed to think she was the star of the show.

Caroline Aherne is perfect for this as it's meant to be a real life Royle Family isn't it - people sat around the telly talking rubbish!

I know the show is trash of the highest decorum and more people will loathe it than love it. But I found it hilarious, the posh couple, one of the gay guys and the black friends had some amazing one liners.
