Exactly - as the mum in one of the Gogglebox families said, the 'experts' on the programme could have asked the couple about their sex life without making them have it off in a box room a few meters away. I think CH4 is trying to find some new 'breakthrough' moment to harp about, but it's just comes over as a pointless idea.

I'd love my parents to be on there, especially my Mum who has a recurring habit of calling celebs/programmes by their 'chosen' names (Jimmy Chan is the classic one and Bulldog instead of Watchdog) and is vocal on her opinion of so-called experts on TV. She would have gone on forever about that Three Day Nanny one.

I didn't think it was shite but it wasn't better than the earlier episodes for the same reason - the programmes being reviewed were pretty dry and/or something I don't really watch. I would have thought X-Factor would have been ripped to pieces but it was only featured for about 30 seconds and only with one household!

Didn't find it funny this week

I think my main highlight was the old couple watching QI and her husband said "he's gay isn't he

and she said "yes he is, but what has that got to do with anything, i don't want to hear you being prejudice, i don't have time for homophobes.

oh and Craig cash and Caroline are such boring commentators. They are so mono-tone. I thought it was just their characters in the Royal family but it seems they were pretty much playing themselves.

So an exchange consisting of 'He's gay, isn't he?' followed with a response of 'Yes, he is' constitutes 'homophobia' now, does it?

Likely she said because in the past he has said homophobic remarks.

Grace Dent on the show in the Indie
http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-en...4-8872137.html

"There's something rather joyous and soothing about Gogglebox. It reminds me a touch of series one Big Brother when participants were in the main reserved, unaffected and compellingly natural. Gogglebox allows for long sofa silences, for very important sentences which fade away to confused mumbling, for lingering cameras on gormless ajar gobs."

Thanks for the Grace Dent link Sad BB addict.

I particularly liked this bit:

''I could watch Gogglebox every night, but I pray it stays the same: occasional, cherished, understated and filled with wholly normal people, not grotesque Geordie Shore types, and without any nod towards the show being a competition or a journey or having any real point at all. It's just people talking back to the telly and sometimes talking to each other, just like 20 million of us do every evening. It's not much of a format, but it's currently one of the greatest ones on British TV.'' (My bold)

I suspect you didn't watch the program or don't remember that exchange between June and Leon.

Has gogglebox reviewed itself yet or would that be too post modern even for Channel 4?

"I wash my hands every day"

What, even if they don't need it?

I think I wash mine about 10 times a day and I'm not even a doctor or serial killer.

I'm afraid I am not keen on her. She has said a few things that made me think she needs a good talking to.
