totally playing up for the camera...really annoying. Really, really annoying!

OK I missed the first 10 minutes until last night, I didn't see the Mum 'in action'.
I don't think her theory was supposed to be comforting.
People like her with various vague theories aren't all that rare, fair number of them DS GD for a start.
They're suspicious of all sorts, they seem to start from the position that there's always 'something' going on, nothing is ever as it seems.
In real life I've overheard that the Americans can control the weather, Hurricane Katrina was deliberate apparently.
Counter that theory, with the costs of repairing New Orleans, Forest fires and Hurricanes that happen in the US every year, they just plough on.

You may well be right. There are thousands of conspiracy theorists about. Even so, for anyone to suggest for a moment that the Americans were testing out their weapons on the Russians was so bizarre and showed such a fundamental lack of understanding of the real world that it was totally beyond beleif. I think her purpose was to just hog the limelight. Even her husband just sat there and said nothing to contradict her. Perhaps he's heard this kind of stuff so many times he just couldn't be bothered.

In our view as a family it was entertaining and this could run an gain more an more viewers

Of the vague 'something going on' sort it's usually pointless chasing them up a tree, you'll drive yourself mad and get nothing but a headache.
They don't know enough facts to present a good argument and you'll never dissuade them, it's like a matter of faith.
They 'know' there's 'something not quite right' and time will eventually prove them right.
The kids did seem exasperated and like they'd heard similar before, eye rolling and 'you can't say that Mum', Dad probably zoned it out and thought 'can I watch my program?'

Anyway I had a giggle at the other family watching embarrassing bodies and the old favourite 'If they paid you £X amount would you...'

Liked the first episode just found it typical that they'll be focusing on 4 maybe 5 channels, judging from their remotes almost all families had Sky would make more sense to include some US shows or even British shows from other channels

Wouldn't it actually make more sense to show clips and reactions to shows that pretty much everyone has access to and are more likely to have watched or be able to watch themselves?
I assumed it would be Channel 4 programs only, why should they promote someone else's product.

I thought the show was about their reactions, more than anything.
We need to see what they're reacting to, for context.
There's also the rights and costs issues, if it costs Channel 4 silly money for a clip, then they're not going to ask the family's to view them for the program.

I was LOL at those lines too. A surprisingly funny programme! The posh couple, the gay duo and the woman and her bestmate had me entertained most.

Any chance the mods chance sort out the thread title, this mob are a commercial entity, plus it might help those searching for the programs thread.

Those were the ones who entertained me as well the most as well Myss.

The old guy with his wife had a cracker as well when he basically said his daughter looked awful after having a baby lolol.

I don't see the point in this, it's not natural at all. They know the cameras are there and will be trying to make funny comments.

The end result, though, is still very funny.

I caught 10 mins and thought it was funny. Especially the posh couple. Not sure how long I will find it entertaining but we'll see.

It's only for for four weeks but I'm a bit wary how the families will react in the future shows, now they've seen how each other was in the first one. Could all turn into a case of trying too hard....
