Will Olly Murs be Mr. Bland in Reservoir Dogs 2?
Just watching a repeat of him on The Graham Norton Show from last week. How does this guy sell millions of records? Is there some billionaire somewhere paying people to buy his music? Is the end nigh? How do they get the figs into the fig rolls?

Olly can be abit up himself sometimes...but i got to admit he's very good at what he does, and is easily entertaining when performing. I think he's better than Robbie Williams, then again i've never liked Robbie from Day One - too over the top for me. My fave male solo artist is Will Young full stop.
Olly is for a different market, and to be fair i've heard all three albums all very good, all his singles have been outstanding and he's warming to me...over the years. I hated him on the X Factor and was surprised he was top 2, but some amazing songs so far and not totally up himself as much as say Robbie... Might be a sweeping statement but could inherit the Robbie Williams throne... |

Not saying I'm a massive fan or anything remotely close to it but I can see how he's done well. Olly Murs? More like Olly Blurs imo!

There'll be an empty chair/one with Olly sitting on it next to Steve Buscemi in the re-do of the restaurant scene and a dollar on the table in front. No one will mention the chair/Olly or the dollar and the argument about tipping the waitress will continue from where it left off last time. (Has anyone checked the odds on Olly sneaking in as next Pope?)

I love Olly but his latest record is seriously awful. I did not connect with him on the x factor ..far from it .but good on him. he has a persona and a brand of music which has been very succesful and as far as i can see he works very hard at what he does I will always remember the awful comments and the complete slamming of him that went on on this forum when he was in the X factor |

Releasing music while being the host of Xtra Factor helped a lot.

I think Will is a far superior singer than either but he is more of a complex person & he is not quite so willing to compromise himself as Olly does. |

They are very similar in some ways. Both have the "cheeky chappy" persona. Just that Robbie did it first and he is from the North. Neither are brilliant vocalists IMO but both have had some decent tunes.

Robbie had/has a huge ego but he also has an introspective and vulnerable side which makes him more interesting.. Olly doesn't give me the impression he even thinks about anything but his sales figures and getting his name in the papers and on Twitter. |

Agreed he's fiercely private.and won't play the fame game. Whereas Olly IS the fame game. What gets me about OM is his huge ego

Olly doesn't give me the impression he even thinks about anything but his sales figures and getting his name in the papers and on Twitter.![]() If you're judging his pop star quality based off the Army of Two song, Reven, then tell me do you know what kind of vocal range is required for Army of Two? It's like Nicole trying to sing Poison or Don't Hold Your Breath (albeit Nicole's is way more difficult and she sings MUCH better). Olly's track is very difficult to sing. Also if you are basing this off his GNS performance then also use the same bit of reasoning for Little Mix, Katy Perry, JLS, Kesha, Cyndi Lauper, Of Monsters and Men because their performances were just as tacky. And at the moment Olly's music is the only one which feels pop, everyone else is releasing dance track after dance track which I absolutely loathe. Olly's singles haven't been generic dance tracks and have been incredibly catchy. Another things is that his music transcends gender stereotypes. BOTH girls and guys can listen to his tracks. Also can I just say your arguments are all very subjective. FACTS - he has 4 #1 singles, 3 #1 albums, 2 Brit nominations. He also has overall 4 star reviews for nearly each single. I love it how you can even say things like this. |

Sorry but this is so flawed. What you mean to say is that YOU think he has a huge ego. He always compliments the XF, saying that he respects his roots (I have to applaud anyone who has enough courage to say this to the tabloids), and the only news article where he even mentions his popularity are the ones describing his efforts to be respected by the music industry which he can't get because of music industry snobbery. How you've got the impression that he only cares about sales and his name on papers is beyond me. Doesn't every pop star want that anyway??? Isn't that part of their job???

He really is good at that, and I like seeing him on TV. It is just when he opens his gob to sing I switch off....... I heard Army Of Two the other day - it is really bad! I actually like dance music - but it has become boring because too many R&B dance artists are jumping on the bandwagon of pop dance records. Proper dance music is much better. |

![]() . . If you can honestly say that Olly is not obsessed with his 'fame' and sales then your judgment has to be ' so flawed' to use your own words. The man is a walking megalomaniac who boasts about his achievements in nearly every interview he gives .

He has done well for himself and to be honest, many people who come off the X Factor don't get near the sort of success he has had. So fair play to him. People might call him a fame seeker but then I think that can be used for anyone in showbiz and the music industry. They are all battling for attention and money at the end of the day.
