Series 5 is for me the absolute worst of the lot - even though Hayley is one of the best they've had. There was no competition for the second year in a row (but at least in Ray's year several other skaters were enjoyable to watch, especially Jess, something that was hardly true of series 5), at this point we'd seen it all before, and then of course the absolutely cringeworthy and desperate attempts by the judges to make Gary Lucy seem decent and like a competitor, when in other years he'd be a 5th placer at best.

Which brings up another point: strange and/or biased marking and peculiar comments have existed here since day one - this year is no better or worse for it. Another example from series 5 was the forced OTT marking of Daniella in one week towards the end that put her top of the leaderboard. A good routine, but still not better than Hayley. Some will disagree but I doubt many did, and I believe Hayley quite rightly topped the public vote that week. She was the best every week by far. Thank god she was there because otherwise that series was deathly dull and several other people were made to look better than they were.”

You've completely summed it up!

Series 8 by miles. I really don't care about any of them, there has been not one memorable performance and the scoring is ridiculously biased. The judging panel have zero chemistry and Christine just isn't working as co-host for me at all.

I find it laughable that people say Series 5 was the biggest "one horse race" ever when looking back at Series 4, no one stood a chance against Ray, even if they could skate well, the last 3 series have all had winners who you knew from Day 1 would all win but at least Series 6 and 7 had skaters that gave them a run for their money and who should have won.

Aw, I loved series 5 because of Kieron. Couldn't stand Hayley or Gary but that didn't spoil it for me. I don't think Jai Ho was the only decent routine that series either; Kieron had some great ones. I think my favourite was Pink Panther.

I agree with this, I voted 6 too.

This series has really plumbed the depths with the celebrities on show, Christine Bleakley, tired old routines, Karen Barber, tired old cliches, its no longer "must see" viewing in our house.
Even that Bolero music is beginning to grate.

It seems a bit unfair that I'm voting for this series as I've only watched the first show and the final.

However, I only watched the final of the first series which was when my love for this show started and tonight's final proves that any love I had is definitely gone.
