Should we petition for a Google Doodle for the 50th

As you may or may not know Google makes changes to their logo to
Quote:
celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists, pioneers, and scientists.
http://www.google.com/doodles/about

Does anyone else think the 50th anniversary is something that Google could commemorate by way of a DW doodle?

If so then Google are open to suggestions proposals@google.com

Here's the one they did for Star Trek

Like Dick Cheney's much anticipated... I'm sure Google is already ready for this Nerdfest!

That sumbitcin' Whodoodle has long since been vectored, painted, shellacked and rasterified, surely?

I'd think they would be aware of the anniversary anyway. I'd be surprised if they're not thinking of doing one.

Why on earth obsess ? The original show only lasted 1963-89 (26 years), plus the Paul McGann movie (1996), and if it were still in production, then it may be worth commemorating 50 years as a Money Spinner for the BBC. However, unless Sylvester McCoy returns in a future broadcast of Dr Who, waking up after the nightmare known as the Russel T Davies years, the only 50th anniversary on the horizon is the 50th anniversary of the Reimagined Series, which commenced 2005, and due about 2055 if still in production.

DariaM is just a troll, forget about it. Anniversary = commemoration of a certain event from the past. Therefore the 50th Anniversary is the commemoration of the show's beginning. DariaM knows this perfectly well but insanely refuses to believe it despite common sense dictating it because he/she/it knows that there will be this kind of response.

DariaM represents everything wrong with internet forums today. i suggest we all block her. If we do, we will not be able to read Daria's inflammatory posts, which are always the same as the one posted above. I loook forward to ignoring you Daria

I loved the Star Trek Google doodle (and it was only the 46th!), and I did wonder at the time if there'd be one for DW's 50th - I hope so - there certainly should be.

Poor Daria is somewhat obsessed - I feel a bit sorry for him/her.

Your childish inability to not be able to ignore someone without "blocking" them and needing others to do the same represents much of what is wrong with the world today.

What a bizarre (and incorrect) argument! I hope you also complained about the 50th, 60th and 70th anniversaries of the Battle of Britain on the grounds that it hadn't been running continuously since its inception

There, now. Seeing as how DariaM's "argument" was just pathetic nonsense... that wasn't so hard was it? Look at you! You chose to refute and destroy the "argument". You probably could have ignored it all by yourself too. I'll even bet you could have ignored it without having to "block" it, huh? But you chose to amusingly dress-it-right-the-****-down.

Congratulations.

Yes, Granny... you don't appear to be confused at all. But would you care to get in the car and go see the nice doctor anyhow?

It won't cost you a thing, Granny. C'mon. We just need to go see the Doc. You remember what a nice fellow? Just for fun. And I'm sure Doc'll have some more of those sweets for you... you seem to have run out. C'mon, now.

No, it's a kitchenware thing. When someone hassles you, the grown up thing to do is not just to ignore it, but to walk away. And definitely not to scream in their face about how much of an idiot they are.
