Has The Million Pound Drop been axed?
It doesn't seem to have been on since last year, with the exception of the Channel 4 Shake Up special in January, anyone know whether it will be returning anytime soon or if it has quietly disappeared from our screens?

I don't think it's been axed, although as someone has said Davina has a new gameshow so maybe it's the end for The Million Pound Drop?

Dav's lovely buttocks deserve a quiz show of their own.

had rubbish viewing figures and they put it out of their misery.
always had on 25 something blonde models- no one over 30 had a hope of getting on the show. sadly they were too thick to ever win any decent money (I could be wrong but I think the biggest win was less than 200k- nobody got near a million) |

Biggest win was £300,000 if I recall, both by a celeb and a regular player.

They obviously wanted to give it a break - they had 5 series of 10-odd episodes last year FFS!

Applause Store is looking for people to be in the Million Pound Drop audience for March/April time. So looks like it will be back soon, Probably Easter weekend.

Perhaps they should have been a bit more inclusive, then they would have got more viewers.
You never saw anyone over 35 years old on it,and they were all thick as pig-shite. |

Oh Xist. I don't even want to look. Every day the state of society brings at least 2 utterly absurd things to light. As if some over-the-top parody has been written and is being played out for a hidden camera show.
This, I'll bet, is 1 for me, today. |

Is it because of the advertisers demands? Or is it because the makers of the show know that people under 35 have had a poor education ( under the Thatcher administration/Blair Administration) and are likely to be thick,so they won't have to give too much money away? |

They obviously haven't run out of thick, under 25, multiracial, gay or lesbian couples - from London - to compete, whilst all the viewers scream at their telly ..when they get the first, stupidly easy question completely wrong: "Why do they only have morons on this show "

Alot of the time the last question was so obscure, or 2 close answers that it became a game of luck more often than not. So it became a bit stale for me. (Having said that there did seem to be a high quota of people who would rather look in a mirror than a book.) |

I thought it was a decent show. Not compulsive viewing, but I'd watch it whenever I could.
I enjoyed playing along on my iPad. Pity its been axed. |

It hasn't been axed! It's back later March/April.
They just gave it a few months, as it was coming on practically 5 weeks after the previous series finished. |
It is a good show ( and I certainly agree with you about those other shows you mentioned) but why does it have to be so blatently aimed at the under 35s?
Is it because of the advertisers demands? Or is it because the makers of the show know that people under 35 have had a poor education ( under the Thatcher administration/Blair Administration) and are likely to be thick,so they won't have to give too much money away?
surely not, are you suggesting that the producers of such shows are in some way cynical

What about the bank job? That was quite good. Watching people trying to trick each other and loosing everything because of greed was quite funny.
