Well done Beth

Brilliant result.

The producers obviously had it set up for Matt to win.
They gave him the best slot.
That, combined with the overpraise and overmarking by the panel made it plain that the whole show wanted Matt to win.
So I was delighted that the viewers stood on their own feet and refused to be dictated to.

Beth, by the way, was the better ice dancer and came across to the viewers as a lovely, modest person. Something the clowns on the panel obviously couldn't see.

I liked the fact that Beth was modest and gracious in victory. She looked surprised to win, although I suspect she had the public on her side from early on, and she was quick to acknowledge Matt's performances and contribution to the final.

That's the impression of the final I am happy to be left with, rather than all the negativity surrounding the judges etc. IMO of course.
