The faces of the judges was an absolute picture.

I guess the public were getting tired of the constant bigging up of boring Matt week after week and deservedly voted for Beth.

Brilliant result.

I've never liked Karen. Firstly, she was never all that good as a skater, remind me what Olympic medals she won? When she first came on the show years back she looked as frumpy as my Aunty Flo, then she reinvents herself as some sort of minx and cops off with Chris Dean which makes her think she is something oh so special.

But she has topped her stupidity tonight by adding unprofessionalism to her CV.

Horrible, rotten woman. Judge my a**e, she is as unbiased as one of Alex Fergie's referees.

So the result is just perfect, not only because Beth thoroughly deserved it.

I actually think bigging Matt up so much went against him - especially if people thought Beth deserved 10's

Sometimes I despair of the British public.

But tonight the "Sod the judges" vote has somewhat restored my faith in our national resistance to being told what to do.

The great British sense of fair play triumphs again!

If Karen hadn't been at the 1984 Olympics, nobody would have noticed her and Nicky Slater at all. She was never, ever in the same league as Jayne Torvill as a skater, who is still incredible and is still Chris' best friend. And she will never
have fame for her own achievements unlike Beth who she tried to repress by giving her routines that did emphasis enough of her natural skill.
ITV like show biz people to win these competitions, it is the same with I'm A Celeb, something that backfired with Charlie Brooks who isn't likely to leave Eastenders to tatty ITV2 programmes.

Whatever your views on the result it's good to know that the public have a mind of their own & won't be fooled/manipulated/cajoled etc. by the judges views.

First time for me that public has gone against the judges in a big way at the end of the competition

Wasn't it just brilliant to see their faces at the end? It made my Mother Day.

Don't get why Matt got all those 10's. He actually finished the routine several seconds after the music stopped (yet again), whereas Beth timed it to perfection.

It was clearly obvious who the judges wanted to win, and I'm glad Beth won. Not because of the judges but because I preferred the content of her routines. The last two weeks she's come on leaps and bounds, but Matt plateau'd a few weeks back.

Worthy winner.

I am delighted that Beth won, she was fantastic. However I am confused as into why the judges didn't like her?

She hasn't done anything wrong? she has done everything right on the show?. I just think its a disgrace how the judges reacted to Beths win, very dissapointing!

Beth deserved to win on her rendition of Bolero alone. Hers was smooth, romantic. Matts was agressive at the start and quite rough between moves - totally wrong for Bolero.

Beth was overall a far smoother skater, gliding from one routine to another effortlessly. Matt was rough, got a lot of steps wrong (but covered it up well). He was just eager to prove how great he was, and his aggression got the better of him.

Actually I can see one or two judges quitting as a result of this. They have shown themselves up big time and let it be a lesson to mark contestants more honestly. This may mean we may have to put up with Louie Spence for next year, but I don't care as he would have graded Beth a lot higher than Jason. Jason has been a disgrace all season and bet you that ITV are chewing a wasp that they got him back and choking on their own cornflakes. :P

The judges have brought this upon themselves by grading matt in very preferential ways and covering up his flaws which he did have. He is like Denise van outen for sure as the judges on SCD persistently favoured her and yet she made a lot of errors and in fairness wasn't as good. Then again the judges on SCD are far more grateful to whom wins. I mean you wouldn't see len or Bruno grumble like that if their favourites didn't win. The DOI judges have had an attitude problem with Beth right from the start and its backfired.

Then again the boss upstairs probably thinks that he or she will get less money from Beth winning and that to me is a very cynical attitude to have as she made the most money throughout the series. Beth had the ability to connect with over 50s women as well as homosexual guys and others where as matt didn't and doesn't have that ability. I hope their is dramatic adjustments to the judging panel next year like you wouldn't see Katerina grumble like that. It seemed as though robin was the only one who was remotely satisfied with Beth's victory.

The judges have been headpicklers this year and they know it and let Beth's win be a lesson to them and the greedy bosses to show better sportsmanship. For next year they need a knowledgeable panel who you can respect because with Ashley there everything feels dumbed down and Karen seems erratic. Robin is the only one who isn't in danger of losing his job IMHO.

They tried to fix it for Matt and it backfired. No 10s at all for Beth. She certainly deserved 10s for her favourite routine.

For the first 6 weeks I was totally indifferent about any of the contestants; then while I heard what the judges said that Beth was best technically, I preferred Matt's general performance. For me, he was far more entertaining, but between the 2 it was just a matter of taste.

However, I have to say at the end I thought Beth's Bolero was far superior and more authentic than Matt's, and on that alone - if nothing else - she was a worthy winner.

I was over the moon that Beth won she was by far the better skater IMO, I felt the judges under marked her the whole series, I was reallly glad Matt didn't win I thought he was very arrogant.

Thrilled for Beth - so well done and delighted to see the judges eating crow!

The lack of outrage at Beth's win confirms this. The public saw that Beth was the better skater, and her Bolero the better of the two.
