Maybe true; Dan wining three times must prove he is good with his partners and gets the best out of them. Any sports person who has go to the top of thier sport has shown they have the frame of mind to practice, They are competitive and want to win.

Jason's face at the end was a picture. He looked as if he had been slapped in the face with a wet fish. Well worth watching just for that.

Perhaps Matt wasn't that popular with viewers who knew nothing about skating? I am one of them, and found him very annoying. No doubt he was good, but the finer points went right over my head and the way he whooped and punched the air when he went through each week was very off putting

Sorry Saskia44 but I totally agree with Tiggergirls comments. OK so I am a back seat drive too. Fingers crossed front seat drivers review the way the programme is organised so next years DOI is a lot more exciting.

I agree the show was not as exciting this year - but that had nothing to do with Matt. At the end of the day - he was the best, and in my opinion, most entertaining skater.

Beth's performances were nice and graceful, she is a gymnast - but they lacked oomph! I do like a bit of oomph!

And that's fair enough. What is not is your continued implication that anyone who preferred Beth did so only because she had a more placid personality/they found Matt's self-confidence offputting.

I, and I suspect I am not alone, much preferred Beth's skating both from a technical perspective - it was clean and accurate - and latterly from the point of performance as I found her more graceful, lyrical style more to my taste than Matt's urban style moves.

If Karen takes a dislike to someone she can not hide it Jealously with regard to Beth is probably the reason, she's younger , fitter and a gold medalist at her sport. I think Karen has been trying to recapture her youth these last few years. Remember her in series one before she decided she wanted Chris Dean
Everybody thought she was so sweet and lovely at the start of DOI. I'm quite pleased she's showing her true colours. And poor Dan is a really nice lad but is very much influenced by Karen. It must be like being friends with a piranha, you never know when its going to bite!!!!!!!!

It is not just an implication - several have said they liked Beth's humbleness and disliked Matt's arrogance - which rather proved my point I think.

I have read some nonsense on this thread - but to suggest Karen is jealous of Beth - is a step too ludicrous. I just thank god I am not so susceptible to paranoia as some.

It could just as easily be suggested that some are simply jealous of Karen's good looks and success.

She must be nearly twice the age of Beth - but still beats her hands down in the looks department.

Not just Beth. Let's face it, they were against anyone that wasn't Matt from the start.

Shayne was the first victim.

Matt just wasn't the vest skater that at all. He was clunky and not graceful at all. (which is an important part of Ice Dance) - He was more like an Ice Hockey player... Oh wait...

The thing that struck me was that whenever Jason made unkind personal comments to Beth 'you bore me to beth' and 'dead behind the eyes' to name two examples, she looked crushed but did not answer back or try to justify herself. She took it on board and worked on it with the discipline of a sportswoman although his comments must have hurt her.

You could argue that Gareth was a victim as well. They could have changed his flying routine to accommodate his health problems, but didn't. Gareth, when on form, was better than Matt. He also had the likability factor which Matt lacked. It would have been very embarrassing for the judges if it were a Beth/Gareth final two.

Beth is an attractive enough young woman.
What use are good looks and success if you've got an ugly personality. I know which I'd prefer !

I didn't didn't understand the judges' probelm with Beth winning. Surely they must have known that given that she was the only person in the final not to have been in the bottom 2 that she had a strong likelihood of winning and surely they must have also known given that an Olympic Gymnast won on Strictly that it could also happen on DOI.

It's most pecuculiar the way they reacted to her win - I've never seen such a bad display from judges on a reality tv show in a long time! Even on Strictly where the judges had a similar problems with Louis that they had on DOI with Beth - ultimately in the final they had the good sense and decorum to show some fairness towards him and at least appear happy at his win.

She was exemplary all the way through with everything she said and did. I think I would have punched him is he had said those things to me and I am not a violent woman.

Her family should be proud of her and I'm sure they are.

The point about sensuality is subjective..It is not something that can be manufactured and judging by his acting, Matt can't be convincing if he tries. A few arm moves and looking into Brianne's eyes do not make someone sensual. Beth has it without having to act.

If you are refering to my comments about Jason not liking sports stars, that is because he is consistantly nasty to them.
Remember his infamous comments about Sharron Davis..

They always seem to favour the male soapstar for some reason.

Beth has achieved things that Karen has not. She has an Olympic medal, three world titles and has been at the very top of her sport.
Karen has achieved fame because she happened to be skating at the same time as Chris and Jayne, without them she would never have been noticed. She was not famous because she and Nicky were overly talented.
Nor would she have the job on DOI or be with Chris now.

Karen maybe to some more beautiful than Beth, she is also more beautiful than Jayne but the both have talent and titles that she does not have. Saying that Matt was the best was ridiculous.

I had to record the final, but have just watched it. I thought the ungraciousness of the panel was a disgrace. I had to rewind it a couple of times to be sure I was really seeing that. They should issue an appology.
