It made me laugh when Matt said...

'I entered the competition for people to see that I wasn't just a character on a TV show, I wanted people to see the real Matt.'

Erm. You're supposed to be an actor. Isn't it your job to make people believe that you are a character? He is clearly in it for the fame. Brrrrr.

I hadn't seen Matt in anything before, so his characters didn't mean anything to me anyway.

Me neither; I'd never seen him or heard of him. Mind you, that's not saying much - I'd never heard of Beth, Luke, Samia, Lauren, or Shayne, either.

I knew of Shayne and Samia and had heard of Beth, but didn't know the others, including Matt

What made me laugh was when Matt got his first lot of 10's - 'I'm speechless' - then went on to give a speech

He was clearly no Louis smith on scd or like the previous two DOI champs as at least they could connect with the public and at least they had charisma. Matt had none of those two components and to be honest got on my wick too. He also lacked any grace and poise in routines yet the judges were playing the PC card and almost didn't have the balls to mark him down.

What has Political Correctness got to do with the marks the judges gave Matt?

I didn't know who he was either because I don't watch soaps. I get the same problem on Strictly .ie don't know who they are. However he succeeded very well in showing me who/what he is and if I never see him again I won't be sorry

He achieved that in spades - unfortunately for him people didn't like what they saw.
