A classic funny moment which united us in laughter and also his thrilled voice shouting 'he landed it'! on Chris's salchow jump. A part of the DOI furniture indeed, and will be missed.

Indeed, he will be much missed and loved , and some of his work will live on into posterity - which is pretty much all you can achieve.

Oh my god, that was so quick!

What a shame we won't be able to hear his funny after-skate commentary anymore. I know they said he was ill a few weeks weeks ago but I didn't realise he was that ill.

Poor old Tony what a shock! I haven't been on the computer since Sunday night had no idea. What was wrong with him? What a shame.

Very sad news, Tony Gubba was a favourtie sports commentator of mine for very many years, and he earned legendry status amongst us North Walians for commenting on my teams (Wrexham) massive FA Cup shock win over Arsenal back in 1992, I can still remember the commentry to this day. And of course he's been brillaint fun on DOI
