In your opinion. It's all jus sour grapes because Beth won.

No - it's irritation at those spoiling a good show by trying to turn it into a personality contest.

Give it a rest. If (who I'd say was, perhaps joint with Gareth) the second best skater of the competition winning is 'turning it into a personality contest' - I'd hate to see Joe Pasquale win!

Am sure Matt had his share of fans multi voting as well.

How does it spoil it? It's the way the show is. It wouldn't exist without the public vote. I can understand that you would have been happier if your favourite had won but you can't say it spoils the show just because your favourite didn't win.

I understand that Beth is doing the celebrities on Ice tour Dont think Dan is though.

Yes she did and I guess her bolero won it for her, it was beautiful and worthy of a win on its own.

Surely DOI ( and SCD ) has always been a personality contest.
Has there ever been a winner who was acclaimed for their dancing/skating but disliked by the majority?

Beth was never in the skate off, all the other contestants including Matt were. The facts are she got the most votes, and won so really thats all that really matters!. What isn't forgivable is the judges reaction and Matts reaction to Beths win, totally wrong.

I think I heard her and Dan say on This Morning that they are doing something together and that it'll be announced tomorrow, but I could have misheard

The judges were pretty much owned then again I think they are toeing the party line with their bosses of whom I don't think they get on with particularly and they didn't want to be gagged but put up with it for the money. The production were a joke towards Beth's win and should admit they have been incorrect to discriminate a popular contestant like Beth.

Yep. I don't get why there is such hostility towards Matt. I loved watching him - he was entertaining, fast and he threw himself into both the performance and the skating. I looked forward to seeing him every week and thought Luke was far more cocky and snappy in his comments than Matt ever was.

Beth was great and I'm happy that she won - no one was robbed - but I can understand why the judges preferred Matt, and were disappointed with the result.

Watching the Final - Matt was dignified enough after Beth had been announced the winner, and gracious in the last weeks of the show. I don't get all this vitriol.

Hayley although I'd heavily disagree on her skating skills.

Perhaps I should have said "disliked by the majority of voters"
i.e. in order to win these things it is not enough (or even necessary) to be merely good, but you must be liked by enough people to garner the most votes and conversely, regardless of any recognition of your ability, people who don't like you are not going to vote for you.

She worked hard training, took criticism on the chin and improved every week. Her parents should be very proud of her. Matt Lapinskas could learn a thing or two from Beth!”

Where is the 'like' button when you need it?

Being the publics favourites doesn't mean Beth and her partner were the best - Matt and Brianne were best and were robbed of the title. Beth was boring.
