Also Beth didn't have an unfair advantage of having some sort of ice dance training wheras matt did blatently. In actual fact a few routines he did lacked balance on a few occasions so yet the judges overlooked them. I do get the impression that with one or two judges that their heart really isn't in for doing DOI at all, Jason I think has blown his second chance and there's no way Karen can coach and judge at the same time. As well as that I think at times she hasn't looked all that well and tired really doing two jobs.

To be fair the judges were wrong to act like spoilt kids, but Beth is a very strong character so she can let it wash over her. Judges and production have taken the piss this year they really have.

It's quite ironic that people claim Beth won because it's a personality contest but also claim she has no personality

I'll be honest, I stopped watching this series because of the blatant fawning over and pushing to the public of Matt's greatness....

I watched the final after reading about this controversy over Beth winning.
Well, there isn't one lol, best skater won (since when has the Bolero had hip hop body popping moves in it???)

The judges faces... jeez. Polite and nice or what (and even Philip Schofield never offered Beth a hug or kiss from the footage I saw)

I can't see why they got rid of Katarina for Karen (other than the obvious reasons lol) I had been dreading Louis Spence as a judge but found him really rather good. Bring them both back, get rid of Karen and Jason and get rid of Robin too. (Bring back Nicky)

If it is true that he got the news about his Grandfather at that very moment then yes I could understand why he looked like that. But lets not forget he was happy as Larry when gushing all over Matt so if he had got the news before the show there is no excuse.

Anyway this does not excuse the other judges and their lack of professionalism

Not saying its not true but I find it a bit suspicious. He was lively enough telling Matt he was his champion in the segment before and had been lively enough throughout the show even being rather animated on occasions. I can't somehow see the news being broken to him in the middle of the show and it just seems rather coincedental that his face like a sour lemon just happened to occur when Beth was announced winner.

It could just be that he found out just that second but I think he is now just trying to cover his back in the face of all the public outcry against all the judges so he comes out looking not as bad the whole "I had a reason to look miserable so don't moan at me"

I may be cynical but I don't buy it.

So his judgement was clouded then, if it would have been Craig revel Horwood he would have pushed it aside. Still don't condone Jason's bias, he has been dreadful this season.

Was just going to say everything you have. He wasn't glum when fawning over Matt being his champion. And the other 3 have no excuse (or they've not tweeted them yet)

Sorry if his granddad is ill, but if he got the news before the show, he shouldn't have gone on. Otherwise, it was very unfortunate/convenient timing when he got the news.

I agree as its evidence that the judges don't think what most of us think anymore and with the producers have alienated us. To be honest we are free to blast the way the judges have been like. They really have said some very silly things this year and have had the backlash they've deserved.

How can the result be controversial. Two skaters come out... they skate.. the public votes.. the one with the most votes wins ... SIMPLES !! Even Jason tweeted earlier that day the same message.. saying the winner will be the one with the most votes. If anything was controversial it was how the judges reacted.... it was disgraceful.

Jason's been the best judge this series by miles, his decisions have always been right iirc

Goes to show how greedy the judges were in that case, they've shown themselves up by not being transparent with the viewer.

All 4 judges were of one opinion; the majority of the voting viewers were of another. Simples & end of!
