They are too full of their own importance and were convinced that Matt would win because they said so and we plebs hang onto their every word. Boy did they get a kick up the bum when the public spoke!

Jason now blaming his sour face when the winner was announced on the fact that he had just received news that his grandfather was unwell !! Did someone dash onto the set and tell him this just as the winner was about to be announced because he managed to look pretty cheerful during the rest of the show !

Even so I still reckon that Jason's behaviour was unacceptable all series. To be honest Jason may quit anyway as its evident that he has other things to attend to.

I heartily agree with the op, Beth performed fantastically in that final. She wasn't my favourite I was rooting for Gareth but that didn't end well but having mentioned that look how Beths statement on Gareth? The judges were pathetic Beth really deserved that win unlike clunky Matt - although I did enjoy him at times. What a lovely dignified girl who worked had and did improve so much. The judges supposedly professionals should have had the good grace to look pleased, what a shower of graceless twonks.

Their reaction shows they did intend for Matt to win and they were attempting to fix the result....They did not realise that Beth has a huge fan base, if you ever saw the crowds of supporters at the Olympics or Worlds, it is obvious that thousands of young people adore her.

I could understand their reaction if someone like Samia had made it to the final and won on popularity alone as her technical skills would have been nowhere close to Matt's but Beth's were! It is just disgraceful all round and as for Jason's excuse I've never known someone to sit rolling their eyes when they've found out a relative is unwell. I'd have thought the judges wouldn't have been allowed mobile phones or anything on in the studio and no floor manager is going to tell a judge something like that when they're on air. He couldn't have left anyway. Spoiled children who didn't get their way the lot of them!

Exactly and Beth had a lot of sex appeal on the ice wheras matt had none. His dances were incredibly samey, yet the judges patronized us thinking he was great when in fairness he looked sloppy, ungainly and common. I hope that when DOI comes back that the judges learn from their mistakes and the production team as well.

I agree with the OP, every judge should stand up and apologise to Beth for their behaviour during the final and an extra sorry from Jason for the horrible things he said to her throughout the show.
I am honestly gobsmacked at their behaviour and their reaction to the result. What were they doing disrespecting a wonderful young lady in this way. Who do they think they are? I am seriously annoyed.

The judges behaviour should put the final nail in the coffin of this show, the format is OLD and tired, even the judges are jaded, time for a change, This series has been like "The Emporor Has No Clothes"!! in that, the judges seem to think IF they say Matt was "the best ever" we are dumb enough to believe them!!!

I agree with the OP as i felt on Sunday there would be some fallout to this. I was disgusted when they couldnt even raise a (fake)smile for Beth. She was better technically than Matt and won fair and square. Im glad the nation didnt fall for the manipulations of the judges and ITV. Not to mention Matt himself, who seemed to think he had a devine right to win. I never vote in these competitions but i very nearly did on Sun. My anger at Matt's over marking actually had me typing Beth's number in my phone ready. But i didnt. It wouldnt have mattered anyway, she won. I have never been so relieved at a result on a tv programme than this.

The behavior of the judges have probably tainted Beth's victory. Everyone's taking it away from her and its not fair. Never before have i seen so much destain when someone didnt win.

Im glad that Beth won and the reaction of all since had proved that humility wins out in the end.

I'm putting it politely and using a bit of humour, nah they were nasty about her win and you don't see that kind of attitude on SCD because their faves don't win. The judges really have acted sick and twisted this year, done themselves no favours whatsoever by this and hope they have the balls to admit they were incorrect.

I share the concern at what seems to be overshadowing the series, but if you want a polite version, if Matt and Brianne really were that repellent and the judges really that biased, then Beth's victory and grace towards both groups should be vindication enough and perhaps guide the reactions of others.

No world ending just a bunch of stupid judges disrespecting a young woman they didn't approve of winning. Shame on them and anyone who thinks it is OK to be disrespectful for the sake of a programme.

It may haven't been a great series but at least it has got some life in it. No people shouldn't be resentful that their faves don't win, they should appreciate it regardless with whether she wins or not. The judges have been pathetic this year, end of.

I see no hysteria just a bunch of people saying how disappointed they are by the treatment of the judges to a young woman who won a competition. They were the predictable ones. And calling people mad is not a good look.

Don't forget all the bitching about anyone who it is alleged didn't react in an 'appropriate' way to her win - which it seems includes all the judges, Matt, Brianne and anyone else who doesn't agree Beth was the best skater.

The bile directed at Brianne for basically not being a 'good girl' and daring not to act like some shy little wallflower is one giant step backwards for women and many of those spouting such bile are 'modern', young women. I am absolutely astonished at some of the antiquated attitudes on this forum.
