Emeli Sande was the big female act of 2012 and Adele was the year before

Who do you think will be the big british female act this year? Will it be a new artist or an existing one?

I am placing my bet on Bo Bruce or Gabrielle Aplin.

Hopefully Gabrielle Aplin or maybe Jessie J (she's a more obvious choice)

Before opening the thread first person that popped into my mind was Bo Bruce, but also Cher Lloyd.

Bo Bruce - Her album will be amazing, i just have a feeling.

Cher Lloyd - She has worked with so many amazing people creating the new album and i think she is going in a different direction with her music which could end up with her being massive.

This is gonna be the year of Paloma Faith! She's slowly but surely making inroads into the US and is fast becoming a household name, Fall To Grace has been in the Top 40 for ages!

In an ideal world, Charli XCX would be dominating but I can't see that happening. I'd love to see Diana Vickers do well this year to shove a big two fingers right at RCA, but again I can't see that happening.

Think if it wasnt for the Sugababes tag and MKS,then this would have been a brilliant time for Siobhan Donaghy to release music x

I cant see the younger generation going for Bo Bruce. Her demographic is definately older.

I dont think the answer is that obvious at this point.

Hope not.Think her voice is dreadfully annoying / false, as well as well has her music being derivative.Think her dress sense is very over the top / derivative (retro) / pre or post-rock'n'roll (not sure which. The worst thing about her is her off putting personality though - false quirky / kookiness.
Why do the BBC have her on TV so much Good example here >>> http://uk.news.yahoo.com/paloma-fait...083900967.html

I think the most likely solo artist to become "big" is Tom Odell (yes, I'm aware he has a penis). He even has at least one piano ballad but I'm still not sure he's beige enough as I heard one song and his voice reminded me of Longpigs ffs.

On her next album will be this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DySvpyQ8jY

It will be MASSIVE & you wont be able to get away from it when its released.

So you wont be able to get rid of her sorry.

If the next female artist we have to suffer is Gabrielle Aplin I'm moving into a cave until it's over. I don't care how good she looks in shorts, I'm not having it .

I know right i mean i know people may not like Florence + The Machine or Ellie Goulding but at least they have a bit of imagination and an upbeat track or two and something unique to offer love or loathe them they made 09 and 10 a little more interesting after duffy and adele so can we have someone like them again

Is Paloma even planning on releasing an album this year?

I would love it if she did but it took two and a half years, actually closer to three, for her to release Fall To Grace.

I can understand if you dont take to her, but it IS a catchy song & you can just imagine it becoming an anthem for drunk women.
