It's been years coming but it could finally be about to happen!

They need to raise 2 million from donations in 30 days to be able to make the movie.... 12 hours after the announcement goes live and they have raised over a million already!

Hopefully when they reach $2mill they'll include some "please add $15 for delivery outside US" rewards. I'd kinda like to receive the dvd, poster and t-shirt, but currrently they won't send it to anyone non-US.

Yes totally agree! I'd hate for it to be a limited US release with no proper DVD to add to the collection.

Loads of comments on Kickstarter from people outside of the US commenting on it. I guess they didn't expect Veronica Mars to be popular outside of America. What with the intelligent and fantasticly written scripts, amazingly fresh and well thought out story-arcs and constantly brilliant acting to punch it all together.

Silly people!

This has made my day. I hope the DVD and the extra stuff will be available to the rest of the world. It's not fair if only US people get it.

I'm quite glad its taken off so well. I pledged in as well and would have loved to received some of the US bonuses! But at least it seems he's trying to get it sorted.

I hope more can be raised to give a better filming budget for the movie.

So to what the movie will be about, I'm kinda hoping it doesn't center on the subject that filled much of the tv series.

They're relying on shooting the film during the summer, during a period of time when Kristen Bell (Veronica) has a break from the TV show that she is currently involved in.

They have to work the other actors in to the schedule during that time.

They have mentioned the following actors as being involved in the project in some form or another:

Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars)
Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars)
Jason Dohring (Logan Echolls)
Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas)
Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel)
Francis Capra (Weevil)
Tina Majorino (Mac)
Chris Lowell (Piz)

The first four were featured in the video for the campaign (although that was filmed 13 months ago).

The others are mentioned on the Kickstarter page as being available for the rewards that include a personalised voicemail greeting.

Quite impressive to reach $2,485,118 after such a short space of time. Could feasibly double that if it keeps going for the next 29 days.

Aww lovely. Veronica Mars was a great show, although Season 3 was a bit all over the place but it has retained such a loyal fanbase. I wonder when shooting will begin, as Kristin bell is heavily pregnant at the moment so I doubt they will be shooting for some time.

So many of the comments are of the "I gave $10 but would have given $35 is you shipped outside the US" form, that methinks when they add rewards for these people (me included) the total pledged could quickly DOUBLE... TRIPLE even.

Is this gonna be a cinema film or a television film? Veronica Mars was never that popular to be in for a big cinema film like The X files, Sex and the city and other tv shows who made it on to film.

This is so great, isn't it? Everyone must have taken big pay cuts for 2 million to be a viable budget, even bearing in mind that it was hardly a set/costumes/SFX-heavy show in the first place!

I'm sure it'll be a fan-pleasing movie, especially bearing in mind how the funding has been raised - I can't believe they'll have waited this long and done all this just to have a downer of a story, especially if there's a chance it might lead to a 4th season on TV or another movie...

It will get a cinema release but probably a quite limited one.

It will also then be on DVD/BR and I wouldn't be surprised if it got shown on TV as well.

I suspect you'll get an all-formats release, probably at the same time. there was mention of a VOD release as well.
