I dont want her to go. I just went and sat with her and burst into tears. I had to come out the living room as I dont want my young son to see me crying.
I want her to pop up and run outside like she used to love. She is my best friend, my companion and someone who I never imagined not at my side. Two weeks ago she was full of life. Now she has no strength and cant even walk. I will always love you Misi and you will never be forgotten. |

It is ok to cry in front of your child. You're teaching him that it's alright to be sad when things like this happen, and that it's perfectly normal to be upset.
Big hugs x x |

All booked for tomorrow. I wanted to bring her ashes home but I cant afford it. She will be going to a pet crematorium in Northampton.
http://www.pcsonline.org.uk/page120.asp I can visit her whenever I want which I will as its only 47 miles away and it has a rose garden. She always loved the garden. She was always scared of travelling and I am worried for her. I wish I could keep her here. |

But if he said she could make a recovery, then surely there is still hope? And if she is not suffering, are you sure you have made the right decision?
When the vet came out to put our old girl to sleep he told me that she will have been stressed as she couldent do her normal doggy things anymore. CC sending you hugs, dig deep and be brave. xx |

You have made the right decision. You have given your friend an excellent and happy life, with a dignified end, something most humans don't even get. Be proud and let yourself grieve without guilt.

But you are doing the kindest thing for her, as an owner, that you possibly could. Im thinking about you - its just so hard when something like this happens, our lovely pets dont have the same lifespan as we do, and this is one of the heartbreaking things about having a beautiful animal in your life - but she had the best life she possibly could with you, and you are being the best friend to her now. take care of yourself. xxxx |

It's hard when it happens especially when it's sudden but putting them out of their pain is the kindest (albeit the hardest) thing to do.
My parents had to do just that on Friday when one of their cats became ill, he was my Dad's little fluffy companion (the only one he allowed upstairs), he would wait to be groomed in the evening, loved being the centre of the action, he would sit on the dining room table or one of the chairs if people were stood around talking(everyone loved him and everyone that met him wanted him). They noticed something was wrong on Thursday night when he didn't go for his regular grooming and on Friday he hardly moved so my Dad went straight to the vet, they operated straight away and found he had cancer and a ruptured spleen. It was so sudden there was actually nothing they could have done, he also showed no signs of being ill until Thursday. When they went to see him Friday night they said it was just like he was sleeping. Now there is this big hole where he should be, you go round there expecting this big ball of fluff to come and greet you and he doesn't. He was special because he was dumped at the side of the road as a 4 week old kitten(the RSPCA reckon because he wasn't the perfect Maine Coon) and hand reared so he just loved being around people and was a complete clown to go with it. |

I will miss her so much. I will miss talking to her loads. I never felt lonely with her here and always felt safe. I have to go work today I have no choice because if I ring in I will get roasted for having a day off about my dog. She is more then a dog to me but not to work.
I have to leave in 45 minutes and I have been with her all last night and most of this morning. I will never see her again. |

I'm so sorry to hear this Central Cake.
You are doing the right thing for your dog and she will appreciate and thank you for it. Take all of the time that you need to grieve for her. I lost Winnie in 2011 and I still cry over her. Like you, she was my baby and I couldn't imagine my life without her. I'm thinking of you today ((hug)) |

It's the right decision. Heartbreaking nonetheless. You are doing the kindest thing for your friend. Be kind to yourself too.
