We were grateful our cat passed away peacefully at home and on his bed some six weeks ago after 17 years and, whatever anyone says, it isn't easy! And this is from a 50-year old bloke who used to play rugby!!

The one thing we were adamant about, though, was that we weren't prepared to see him suffer and, if needed, we would have asked for him to be put to sleep.

I think the best thing you can do for any pet after such a long time is make their departing as comfortable as they can be when their time comes.

Today will be very tough Central Cake, but remember the life you shared with Misi and that you did the right thing by her when the time came and that is all any caring owner can do.

Just wanted to send you a big hug. and to say I am thinking of you all today.

I know exactly what you are going through 18 weeks today at we had our beautiful dog PTS and it was the hardest thing ever. Still miss her just as much now as the first day without her. We also had the vet come out to the house and I must say it was the best decision we could have made for her and for us. I light a candle next to her picture everyday it might seem silly to some but it helps me get through the day

She is now in heaven sleeping. The vet told us she had a number of strokes and kidneys failed.

I hope she is at peace now.

Love you Misi.

You really did do the best thing, even if it doesn't feel like that now, and won't for a while.

You stopped her suffering anymore, and set her free from any pain she was in.

xx

You did the kindest thing and she is now at peace. I have had to do this many times and it hurts like heck and does not get easier

I feel so guilty when their time comes but it is the kindest thing. I only hope when my time comes there is something like this for me.

Misi had a fantastic life with you and you didn't make her suffer.

Losing a pet is heartbreaking. My best advice is cry buckets, it does help.

Sending massive hugs to you x
