It feels like every year Morrisons make some sort of announcement of plans to launch online shopping.

This time there is a date - by Jan 2014.

And this time they're in talks with Ocado (who currently don't deliver to a significant chunk of the UK ).

I didn't realise that about Ocado. What areas don't they cover?

Their website says, that with their last expansion in 2011, they now cover "over 70%" of the UK. That's pretty low. They don't give any indication where they do/don't cover, however Wikipedia indicates they only cover England & South Wales. Ocado is the only online supermarket that doesn't deliver to where I live.

We have two decent sized Morrisons in our town, and I've never experienced that sort of problem with either of them. Their bakery and fresh fruit, in particular, are very good. I think it's fair to say that every supermarket has good and bad stores, however.

Your local store obviously has a bad manager, mine is fine for dates.

Ocado have been delivering to the Blackpool area for a couple of years now so they are expanding North.

I thought it was interesting on the news that they said that they wanted to compete with their main rivals Tesco and Sainsbury.
No mention of ASDA. I wonder if it was just an oversight.

Not looked at the figures but in my mind Tesco are the biggest chain followed by ASDA.

Edit: I was right according to this

That's why I'd rather do my own shopping, get the best of all produce and products available.
