Just a shame they won't get anywhere as a band either. I think anyone expecting them to be massive is in for a huge shock. Girls Aloud who were far more popular than the Sugababes tanked on their return while Little Mix haven't performed as well as hoped.

The Sugababes or rather MKS have no market. No genuine fanbase (its been too long) and the interest in them just isn't there. This is why everything keeps being pushed back. When this happens you know its because their label are worried. Plus sacking the man who got them back together in the first place which resulted in him getting them backlisted by many insiders wasn't a wise move.”

Pretty much this.. Any hype MKS had seems to have vanished due to the amount of times it's been pushed back. I was very excited when they announced a return, but almost a year on we are still waiting on even a single announcement and the patience is wearing thin..

I want them to do well, as I want the Sugababes to come back with a hit album, there is space for them both to do well.. The biggest problem seems to be that nobody can let go of the fact they aren't Sugababes anymore, two of them because they chose to leave, the media and fans need to start to call them MKS if as many claim the Sugababes name and brand is so damaged

ETA: through this track I found a brilliant (I think) studio acoustic of Freedom so whoever this producer is, I thank him/her very much

Sugababes have never had the success Girls Aloud have had. Girls Aloud have done several arena tours. Sugababes toured music halls... often not even selling half the tickets.

In reality, if Keisha wasn't a bully, then all 3 of them would have still been in the band. How Siobhan and Mutya can forgive her I'll never know.

When you look at sales, the only Sugababes studio album that sold more than any/every Girls Aloud studio album was Taller In More Ways.

Money.

That said, the things Keisha said on CD:UK about Mutya when she first left the band was terrible. The clip used to be on Youtube but I cannot find it now. She basically said Mutya had no imput into the band since Three and that Heidi and herself only shared writing credits with Mutya because it was the deal they had to always split it 3 ways. Amelle looked so uncomfortable during the whole thing.

Angels With Dirty Faces is over 900.000 though? And Three is over 800.000 I believe? I doubt Girls Alouds first three or four releases came close to those figures

Girls Aloud are officially the biggest selling girl band in the UK of the 21st Century. They were given that title because of their sales.

Angels With Dirty Faces was only ever double platinum, same as Three. The only album to pass 600,000 was Taller In More Ways.

One Touch: 200,000
AWDF: 955,000
Three: 855,000
TIMW: 860,000 (by Oct 2008)

Girls Aloud sales are pushed up by higher singer sales and across Europe, Sugababes are more successful.. Girls Alouds first three album sold 350, 600, and 500,000 according to the BPI

Certifications from the BPI are sales to the trade. If you can find proof that Angels With Dirty Faces sales to the public actually reached 3xPlatinum, then feel free to post the link and correct me.

I'm sure that the Sugababes are the higher seller of the 2 accross the whole of Europe, but Girls Aloud are the official biggest in the UK of the 2.....

But then Girls Alouds sales are to the trade and are still lower than Sugababes? Whether to trade or consumers, the BPI classify all releases the same so to consumers, the album must have sold more or the trade would simply have bought more GA albums.. If you can find proof that any Girls Aloud studio album sold more to consumers than AWDF then feel free to post the link and correct us?

I'll never understand how Girls Alouds first greatest hits shifted twice what the Sugababes one did :/

There is also the interview with Simon Amstell when he asks "Do you miss Mutya" and Keisha's face says it all.

Plus the London paper interview with SIobhan when Keisha got dropped where she slated Keisha

Keisha has an unfortunate habit of saying things that come back to bite her on the arse..

In the documentary Sugababes: Uncovered, Keisha said of Siobhan's departure "I was more comfortable, the moment Heidi joined the group, I know when thats when everything, we became The Sugababes"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLio4QKwv20

Contrast that to 2011/2012 when she appeared on the "I Was In A Girlband" show on BBC, she said "I would prefer to remember it from when we first started, going in and busting our butts to make a record, and that to me, whenever I see Mutya, whenever we sing together, whenever I hear our voices together, and with Siobhan's aswell, that's when I feel like a Sugababe"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxM0wsCQTHg

So in 2006, she didn't feel like the group were the Sugababes until Heidi joined and now she didn't feel like a Sugababe after Siobhan left?

I'd say it'll be really good.

Why do GA have to be brought up? They're doing a farewell tour so it's not like they'll be relevant when MKS return officially.

Catfights had sold 122,326 copies by March 2010. Sweet 7 ended up selling 19,065 copies by the time it left the chart - presumably it's around 25k now, but I have no reliable sales data.

Taller, Three and Angels could all be certified with a triple platinum award, but clearly their label just isn't bothered. I also believe Catfights is undercertified and only has a Silver certification.

Well I absolutely love this!! It's still the Sugababes sound, but they've grown so much and the sound has moved forward. This is what the Sugababes were always about...distinctive sound and distinctive voices. The current lineup of Amelle, Heidi and Jade is just a girl band doing pop music...nothing special. Their last album was just pop/dance songs. Looks like MKS might do very well!

BIB: Which of course was the exact same album that Heidi, Amelle and Keisha were to release two months after Keisha went? So are you then saying that even with Keisha in the band, they weren't releasing Sugababes sounding material?
