Emile Sande - Clown

Welcome to the Pleasuredome - Frankie Goes to Hollywood

Death of a Clown - Dave Davies
(Although I wouldn't say that this would be that appropriate for a party. A bit too melancholic for that).

House of Fun - Madness

Tears of a Clown - Smokey Robinson or The Beat

Here are some that are more obvious to me:-

Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite - The Beatles

Cathy's Clown - The Everly Brothers

Death Of A Clown - Dave Davies

Ha! Ha! Said The Clown - Manfred Mann

Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan (lyrics mention jugglers and clowns)

Tears Of A Clown - Smokey Robinson and the Miracles

Some lesser known tracks with a circus connection:-

1941 - Harry Nilsson

Goodbye Cruel World (I'm Off To Join The Circus) - James Darren

Clown Shoes - Johnny Burnette

Fire Eater - Three Dog Night

See The Funny Little Clown - Bobby Goldsboro”

Snap!

Acrobat - U2

Bring On The Dancing Horses - Echo and the Bunnymen

When The Circus Comes - Los Lobos

Wild Billy's Circus Story - Bruce Springsteen

Sorry, I just skim read the thread an missed your post, so inadvertently repeated a couple of your choices.

But at least The Beat is an optional alternative to the Smokey Robinson version, depending on what mood and pace you want.

It feels almost sacrilegious to say this, but I actually prefer The Beat's version of "Tears Of A Clown" to Smokey's version!
