Haha.

What is it with people wheeling out the old "It's for charity" or "Just abit of fun" argument to excuse shite?

Seems to have only come in the last year.

It'll definitely go down in history as one of the UK's most memorable ever. They make every UK citizen proud to be British. God save the Styles.

did you hear that it was the sanitised version? during the recording this morning (they can't do live as they have a show tonight in manchester) they have to sing twice as the screaming was TOO LOUD on the first take, fans threw bras onstage, some fans managed to rush up the stage and one fan (heatworld reported) clung to zayn's leg and wouldn't let go, lolz!!

That doesn't mean it's good. Is there an unwritten rule that someone can't criticise a charity song because it's for charity? If a song is crap then it's crap, no matter what it's for.

Yes, Thankyou one direction for doing a cover of a song, and raising millions for charity and spreading the word of Comic Relief across the whole world

They're the new Beatles
But the Beatles didn't rely on Ed Sheeran to write songs for them.

Blondie's will never ever be beaten but if you have to listen to a cover...this is better than One Direction

I suppose the whole thing would have been a flop without them. I dont know how it managed for 25 years.

They are better than The Beatles, don't insult One Direction by compering them to The Beatles.

A cover doesn't ruin a song, it still exists in its original form. All it does is insult your memory of that song.
1D are really awful though aren't they. A lot of songs these days are so bad I listen to them just to see if I can take the endurance. Most are out of tune and time signature.

I agree - I'm sure that Adele would probably sell more - there is no way it would have flopped without 1D, you are exaggerating.. Besides, Westlife's Uptown Girl and Spice Girls' Mama/Who Do You Think You Are were also successful worldwide, even though the media kept saying 1D are the first act that are successful globally. The Saturday's Just Can't Get Enough and Cher's Love Can Build a Bridge also had some success to an extent.
