I love cake - without doubt my favourite food!

So hard to pick one but if really, really pushed (and of course it depends on my mood) is actually an old fashioned fruit cake.I prefer old fashioned cakes really

Coffee & Walnut
Carrot
Banana,Rum & Raisin
Lardy Cakes
Chelsea Buns
Mince Pies
Anything with Marzipan

Though I love all cake I'm less keen on modern or trendy stuff. Less keen on chocolate, muffins always look good but are disappointing and I love cupcakes. It's the plainet most boring cake slathered in a sickly buttercream. It's all about looking good - like a pretty person with no substance behind it. No time for things like the Hummingbird Bakery

Any of the above.
This week I made a fruit cake containing black pepper, cloves and dried ginger.
It works and its delicious.
If you try it don't bake it for 50mins it's too long and add an extra egg.

Agree with you about cupcakes, I like a good old fairy cake with a bit of icing just like my granny used to make!

It has to be vanilla cheesecake, but also ricotta tart (similar taste) and pastiera (yum).

I agree. Something about the jam and whipped cream combination.

Also love cheesecakes especially ones with chunks in.

I never knew oven baked doughnuts existed. My mum would always deep fry them. Now, as I can't eat deep fried food, maybe i should try baked doughnuts. Thanks for the info.

Back to the topic, my favourite cake would be chocolate cheese cake.
