Where's all the RPG's gone
I remember when we owned a Japanese Snes, we used to get the Game Pro mag and it used to have loads of reviews/previews of JRPG's. What's happened to those type of games ?. Why is there a lack of them on this gen consoles ?.

There are plenty of them about. "Ni No Kuni" is the latest.

360 doesn't sell in Japan. MS threw money at Mistwalker to make a few games but it didn't break japan like they hoped.

Try the PSP. Theres hundreds of JRPG's on it. No localisation though, so you need to be able to read Japanese.

They went to the handhelds, both the DS and the PSP had huge amount of them. The PS3, 360 and Wii also had their fair share too, but generally speaking it's the portable systems where you will find the best examples of the genre these days.

Congrats.
xBlaKOuTZxX, you may wish to try Tales of Vesperia on 360 if you liked Ni No Kuni, it's pretty highly regarded among JRPG fans and it's quite similar in both combat and visual style. See what you think here I think there's even a demo on the marketplace. |
