That was top notch. I can see why your average ITV1 viewer in this slot might not appreciate it, but it's a good sign that ITV are willing to try to raise the bar a bit.

I agree, utter waste of 30 minutes for me, I didn't see the point in turning over when I really want to watch The Job Lot..

One of the better new sitcoms I've seen in recent years. Its a shame that so many people think the laughter is "canned". Have we really forgotten what a sitcom is supposed to be?

It'd be interesting to see if any other teenagers liked it as much as I did.

I found it amusing. It's really a about three in a marriage though. Francis De La Tour is the wife in all but name.

That was one of the unfunniest things I've ever seen. It just seems to be so beneath Sir Ian McKellan and Derek Jacobi - why are they doing in an over the top, outdated ITV sitcom like this?

I will, of course, be watching next week though.

Brilliant actors but acted in that american sitcom style with American turns of phrase and really irritating canned laughter.

Has it been made primarily with US audiences in mind? It gives that impression but can't see them 'getting it' over there at all.

I thought Derek Jacobi was trying to do an impression of him. But only John Inman can do John Inman - he would have done a good job of the predictable one liners.

got better as it continued. for some reason i found their near hysteria every time someone rang their door bell/phoned them very funnny......

It was ok, laughed a few times. Certainly better than the Ben Elton tripe on the BBC.

What did annoy me was the stupid hashtag some young, trendy, hip person wanted in there to flash up 1 minute in. If it must be there, put it at the start, but not a minute or so in.

There's alot of canned laughter used in that new BBC1 sitcom - Wright Way or some such? I think Vicious is better than that. The BBCs sitcoms over the last few years have been pretty awful IMO, other than Outnumbered.

I only saw the last 15 minutes or so and thought it was okay. Only a couple of titters from me but everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves, which made it watchable. I'll give it another go next week.
