I meant where did you get them from.

The answer to the second question defies all rational enquiry.

Someone who has access to the ratings posted them on the Ratings Thread.

Thanks.

Didn't think they were in the public domain!

Well, the first bit (the amount of people who watched) was reported as part of a ratings article (those of which are reported mostly every day).

As indeed it was imo.

Absolutely agree 100%.

I didn't really enjoy this. I smiled a couple of times, but I just didn't 'get' most of it.

I finally saw this comedy last night. I don't usually get enthusiastic about modern comedy but this was really funny.

Its vicious to call this comedy, what a waste of talent, makes Mrs Brown sound like Shakespeare..I like Mrs browns boys, not this...

Same here. I can't believe Ian McKellen & Derek Jacobi would even consider trash like this either.

I didn't find Vicious particularly funny.

I know that sitcoms are all about exaggerated stereotypes but this was done in such a crass fashion.
There was no warmth - not for one second did you believe that this could be a real couple.

What really baffles me is that Ian McKellen gave an interview where he said that the characters in Vicious are two gay men who happen to be funny, not funny because they are gay that's exactly the premise of the show! 'Look, they're gay! Aren't gay people funny!'

Yep. This sitcom would have been more honestly titled "Gays Say The Funniest Things!"

Well these two dont, clearly..

Gay folk are very funny naturally, the writing for Gimme Gimme Gimme was brilliant and very very funny...this is just rubbish regardless of sexuality..It actually insults Gay people..

I've never found the bitchy queen act amusing nor endearing so maybe that's why I couldn't watch more than the first five minutes of this, endless jokes about someone being old and fat, yawn. Sad that they have to stereotype gay characters like this.

Actually, yet another one of these 'jokes' which were awful the first time and then repeated (which takes us up to at least three times this happend) just came back to me: when Ian McKellen's character says to the young man who's just introduced himself as Ash, 'Ash... am I pronouncing that correctly?'. Later on, he again says, 'Oh, Ash... you will tell me if I'm pronouncing that incorrectly?'. What the hell?! The guy pronounced his name directly to McKellen the first time - it's not as if he'd only seen it written down or something (and even then, the inability to pronounce 'Ash' would have been a stretch). Just awful and embarrassing (and again, deemed worthy of repetition).

Its pretty amazing for one episode of a sitcom to have over 500 posts devoted to it! Its certainly got people talking. I will watch it tonight but it needs to be a strong episode to stop the audience numbers dropping.

I think the weather may have just a slight knock-on effect but I hope it still holds up, with over 4 million as least.

Can understand all the negative posts. It is very 'old school' but that in a way makes it feel different from other shows currently trying to be so cutting edge. It was very safe and predictable but that is sometimes all you need. It's not a match on some of the American classic theatre type comedies of the last 20 yrs but it tries hard and maybe it's a grower

Surely there aren't 4 million people prepared to sit through 30 minutes of this nonsense ?

If that's true then this country is a worse state than I dared imagine.

I thought it was really good. It reminded me of some of the rather heated arguments my sister and I used to have when we were younger. The insults got so elaborate and nasty that they used to make my brother, who has always been soft-hearted, cry.

My sister always claims that our arguments were excellent preparation for when she took a job in a call centre.

This is the problem. Unless you have any experience with gay men of a certain age, you're not going to get half the jokes.

Which is going to leave most people cold...
