First time I've seen it, and I found it funny in a rather contrived and old-fashioned way. One thing though - did one of them actually call lesbians 'mis-shapen and plain'? I'll wait for the outrage, but somehow I doubt it will happen.

Again, some funny lines, but overall the acting outclasses the writing.

2.55m (11.0%), and another 186k on +1 for last night.

Disappointing considering the episode was the best out of the lot so far. Do you think ITV will give it a second series?

I really hope so. Comedies are never given a chance these days. I think people forget that Only Fools and Horses was a flop to begin with and didn't develop a following straight away.

No, that's what they used to be (according to the cast). No longer. That's what they find confusing in the present day.

Just caught up with the last two episodes, I think its improving and I found myself laughing quite a lot.

I agree. I thought it was awful to start with but it's certainly picking up lately.

If it keeps picking up, I just hope ITV sees fit to give it another chance instead of axing it...

I certainly feel it deserves another series, but I don't think it will get it. People keep mentioning Fools and Horses as a series which was at first a 'flop'. However, TV is so much more competitive nowadays, and on commercial channels like ITV the pressure to get the ratings straight away is even greater. I also, sadly, think that there are some quarters of the audience who'd still consider the subject matter a bit too 'niche' for their tastes.

Fudd's mentioned earlier that Corrie's on at 9pm.
Should be normal service for the last 3 episodes from June 3rd.

If they get Jonathan Harvey to write a second series it'll become a cult classic.

I've yet to watch the first episode, but seen 2, 3 & 4. There are some brilliantly funny one liners in isolation, and the sheer force of personality of the main characters drives this show forward through the less brilliantly written parts. I was rather disappointed by the vanishing of Frances de la Tour halfway through Monday night's latest showing, and that answer phone ending did not make up for it. She is brilliant and needs to be on screen more. Now I'm left wondering if she is even going to be in the next episode after the way they finished off.

Always funny when people much older use certain "risque" words, especially women. So close to the 9pm watershed was highly amusing, but....ahem....that young lad Ash, at the club, mentioned having to wear a tight t-shirt. A shapely torso, but did he have a bandage over each nipple under that thing? They didn't notice like they should have, even in a warm club!

He could just re-use some of the old scripts from Gimme, Gimme, Gimme...

Getting a bit better but still think the young lad is absolute rubbish, he's not a bad actor in other shows but in this it's too forced with a poor accent

Great Night Out was a really good show that had decent ratings, and ITV dropped it after one series. So, if Vicious continues to improve, it'll probably be the last we see of it...

The Christmas Day special, got confirmed even before the first epsiode aired, which means they wanna give it ago.

And to confirm a programme will be on Christmas day, before the show has even appeared is something

I`ve been giving this comedy a chance because i like the feel of it, the older actors are great But they really need to get rid of Ash. What a crappy, wooden actor he is. They should replace him with a someone who can act and with a personality.. maybe someone a little hippyish or a fancy dress addict like that great new woman character on Not Going Out.

The younger actors totally ruined the last episode for me with the terrible acting

I was wondering if the Northern accent was a bit fake, as the actor is Welsh.

Clearly ITV were really confident. However, it hasn't turned out to be the ratings hit they had hoped. Although, if the Xmas special posts an audience of at least 4 million, then that'll be good enough.

As much as I love Iwan as an actor (also very gorgeous) but I don't think he works well in these comedy settings he's better when its serious.
The older cast are good, the characters bounce off each other and they work well together, Ash character is just random and doesn't fit in.

The last episode was the funniest one yet. It's definitely getting better. Ratings have collapsed though. Nevertheless I believe it deserves a second chance - I'd get a new, preferably British writer in to iron out some of the flaws and maybe drop Ash as I agree he's the weak link. I don't really believe in his friendship with Stuart and Freddie, it would only make sense to me if he was actually their lodger. I think there's plenty they could do with the characters without having to shoehorn in Ash - yes they probably need a straight man (no pun intended) to play against them but his character just isn't working out for me.

I agree with this. And also if they have a younger male he needs to be hot or there's really no point.
