Well I have stuck with it, even though my initial response was of sheer dislike. But it has grown on me, I even laughed twice in the last ep. Can't agree about the Marcia Warren character though, I find her quite bland. Ash is fine as a character - a foil to the bitching twosome Think I will quite miss it.............

I watched the repeat last night and laughed just as much as the first time.

Barry Cryer was not a fan

Quote:
“Take Vicious. A sitcom with two old gays could be really good and moving. With two great actors in Sir Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi it should be fantastic. But it was insult, insult, insult every other line. You don’t believe in them. You don’t like them, for a start. It was positively homophobic! It made John Inman look restrained.

I've heard that a second series has been renewed.

Nice to see ITV are giving it another chance, despite the fact the ratings weren't great.

Despite my initial hatred of the show, I'm quite pleased about this if true.

Fantastic news. I am glad they are brining it back. DAmn to the critics.

It's good news that ITV are giving a (deserved) 2nd series. Whilst it could be hit and miss at times, it did have its laugh-out-loud moments, plus a brilliant cast (special mention to Frances de la Tour, who was amazing).

Also glad The Job Lot has been given another chance, but a shame it's to be on ITV2. I think it could be another Benidorm if given the right treatment.

ITV2

Hope that doesn't mean that Keith Lemon's going to be making an appearance in the show

Great news that Vicious got a second series. It's much funnier than some of the other comedies that debuted this year!

I don't think it was a particularly good show, but it seemed popular enough to warrant a second series.

It's definitely returning.

They just need to get the script right, and make a few other changes, and the viewers who deserted the show after the first episode should return.

I don't know if a show like this could actually have any cultural impact but it doesn't really need to to be a success.

Maybe the writers can produce scripts that are less manic, develop the characters a little more and foreground the fabulous Frances de la Tour for series 2.

Why is The Job Lot being shunted off to ITV2??? It was really good and ITV seemed quite good with its comedy hour of this and Vicious back to back.

ITV seems to think The Job Lot appeals to a "younger audience" and it will stand a better chance of finding this audience on ITV2.

Not sure I agree with them - I'm 42 and I loved it.

Put it back on ITV paired with Vicious and I'm sure it'll find its audience.
