It could do with being a bit sharper.

"Never Can Say Goodbye" really doesn't suit the tone of the show.

I really enjoyed it. A rarity these days when a Xmas Special is much better than episode in normal series. I liked the first series however.

It is indeed. Superb cast and characters. Script admittedly needs tightened a bit but I can forgive that as it's still way ahead of most of this years comedy offerings.

Cutting edge stuff. We've clearly come a long way from John Inman.

We finally got to see (the suddenly rather speedy) Balthazar! What a cute little dog. I hadn't imagined him as a terrier, I thought he would be a slightly larger dog.

I thought he was dead in the series - I thought that was the joke. I must have been making up my own story.

No he just didn't move much, so they kept worrying that he might be.

I was sure Balthazar looked more like a blood hound in the series.

But we never saw him until the xmas episode did we? Before that you could just see the basket, but not what was in it. Or do you mean you saw him as a bloodhound if you imagined what he would look like?

That's how I imagined him too strangely enough.

I imagined him as a sort of medium sized crossbreed, with maybe a Lurcher type of look about him.

I might be confusing this sitcom with another one, but I'm sure there was an episode where we saw Balthazar and he was a bloodhound.

Well that doesn't fit in with the springy thing they had this time!

O/h watches this and loves it - says it's improved, which I'm glad about especially with a stellar duo headlining it.

Unfortunately I can't watch it as Iwan Rheon doing his Lancyorkchestershire accent makes me cringe into a perpetual state of spasm.
