This looks as if it should have been played in the theatre and is acted as such..... Why is it not acted and filmed as a TV sitcom????

Yeah, I don't like the one liner after one liner style sitcoms. Why I could never get into Not Going Out.
And with the adverts that's my cue to leave, wasn't expecting much and this definitely lived up to my expectations.

Yep, I agree. The audience laughter is very off-putting.
So far it seems ok. I keep expecting the red curtain to come across like a stage show for some reason.

A couple of funny lines and I do like Ian McKellan and Derek Jacobi but I'm not sure I can stick with it until the end.

I'm not one for humour though.
Kind of like this, it's better than that new Comedy about the building planner on BBC1, that's just god awful.
The acting is superb but the writing leaves a lot to be desired so far. I'm hoping the actors are so good they'll grow into, or over, the writing. But it depends if it was filmed in or out of order. If what we've seen so far was filmed on the final day it's not promising.
